Adeyemi varsity SUG gets new exco
THE National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and other stakeholders at the Adeyemi University of Education (AUE) Ondo State, have lauded the peaceful conduct of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) election.
NANS Vice President, Ayenuro Gbenga, who monitored the election on behalf of the association lauded the use of electronic voting in the contest, describing it as a good innovation and a novel idea capable of bringing credibility to electoral process.
He commended the institution’s administration for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the election and the students for participating actively in the exercise where Ogunrotifa Richard emerged as president, while Oluwatoba Victoria was elected as vice president.
Kolawole Oluranti, was voted general secretary and Abdulraman Babatunde as director of welfare.
Commenting on the exercise, erstwhile provost of the institution, Professor Olukoya Ogen, expressed delight that the election was hitch-free, just as he commended the maturity and discipline displayed by the contestants in particular and the students in general, adding that the use of the e-voting system has helped in preventing tensions often observed during the conduct of students’ election.The institution’s helmsman advised the students to be orderly and law abiding while celebrating the outcome of the exercise.
He congratulated the winners and pledged the preparedness of his administration to work with them in the task of moving the institution forward.
