Special marshal dies in road accident

nigerian roadTRAGEDY struck yesterday at Owena ,a border town between Osun and Ekiti state when the Osun state coordinator of the Federal Road Safety Corps {FRSC}  special Marshal programme chief S.O Adewale was crushed to death. 

The road safety officer ironically was killed by an articulated truck which ran into his car when he, his wife and son were returning from a trip to Ondo state. 

His wife  and son, who was reportedly injured was rushed to emergency unit of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex{OAUTHC} Ile-Ife for treatment. 

Eye witness account said the FRSC chief was coming from Owo in ondo state with his wife when he met his sudden death at Owenna where he packed his car by the  roadside  to purchase some items from a popular market in the area.
 
The articulated truck coming from Akure end was said to have rammed into his stationary car and killed the road safety marshal. 

The ugly incident reportedly drew sympathisers who wept at the scene when they learnt that the victim was a road safety officer who worked to prevent road accident. 

The late Adewale, who used to anchor  a popular road safety programme on Osun State Broadcasting Corporation {OSBC] reportedly died instantly but his wife and son were rushed to the hospital  for treatment. 

The Sector Commander of the FRSC in Osun State, Mr. Mohammed  Husaini, who confirmed the story said the accident involved three vehicles but Adewale was the only person who died.
 
He said that the deceased’s wife and son were rushed to hospital for treatment.
