Nielson donates borehole,library to school

PERFORMANCE management and consumer insights firm, Nielsen Nigeria, has boosted the interest of students in a public primary school with donations of books as well as the provision of water facilities.

PERFORMANCE management and consumer insights firm, Nielsen Nigeria, has boosted the interest of students in a public primary school with donations of books as well as the provision of water facilities.

Nielsen Nigeria donated educational materials, refurbished the library and provided borehole for potable water for the school last Thursday in line with its commitment to positively impact lives of people and contribute through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme tagged: Nielsen Global Impact Day (NGID). Nielsen is a global brand that offers marketing data and consumer insights for businesses.

Yearly, it observes the Nielsen Global Impact Day worldwide as part of the contribution to the society where it operates. The company identifies Health, Nutrition and Education as key pillars that help humanity to thrive.

Students and teachers of Local Government Primary School in Ikeja GRA radiated cheers and joy when the Nielsen Nigeria team arrived the school to commission and handover the fully furnished library, borehole and other gifts.

Nielsen West Africa Managing Director, Mr. Lampe Omoyele said the donation was part of a global corporate culture of care and commitment to the communities within which it operates. The Assistant Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Elizabeth Akapo thanked Nielsen Nigeria for providing the facilities.

Education Secretary, Ikeja Local Council, Mrs. Bolanle Shittu also praised Nielsen Nigeria for touching the lives of pupils. Other members of the Nielsen team included Omolola Oyebola, Ada-Obi Okafor; Mr. Ade Abatan as well as Mr. Patrick Souza and Mrs. Lanre Aina both from the Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Lagos SUBEB.
