Home Lottery: Helping Nigerians To Own A Homes

THE Home Lottery is offering Nigerians the opportunity to own a homes through a credible, sustainable and logically transparent lottery scheme, with the first recipient taking possession last week, at the Gold Estate in Alimosho Local Council of Lagos State.

The winner of the maiden edition, Mr Elua Gabriel Mokogwu, a businessman dealing in Kitchen utensils and resident in Asaba could not contain his joy as he received the keys to the three bedroom bungalow, talking on how he got to play in the lottery, Mokogwu said, “This is my first time. I have never played lottery before. I was browsing through the internet searching for something and the website just popped up, I followed the prompt and saw their vision, the people behind it and I just thought this people could not be bad people and I gave it a trial.”

He added, “I bought two tickets for N500, each one for N250.00 on May 30, 2015. On the day of the draw the management could get in touch with me but later that day many people began to call me to ask if it was true that I won a house until the management later got in touch with me and told me about what happened.”

Comparing this lottery scheme to that of Lagos State, the Managing Director of Home Lottery said: “When people talk about Lagos State having a housing lottery scheme I tend to differ a bit in the fact that what Lagos State does is it puts up a ballot where people participate to have an allocation for a mortgage because at the end of the day when you qualify for the ballot you begin to pay for a mortgage facility for the property, that for me is not lottery as it were. It is a balloting that allows you to qualify for a mortgage scheme, what we are doing is lottery, once you win, you don’t pay for anything.”

Asked how many people participated and how Nigerians reacted to it Otung said: “We all understand how Nigerians perceive and embrace things like this especially as a new project, people have reacted in different ways some will said we have come up with another scam but we tell them this is for real and indeed it is for real as you can see and attest to what we are doing. We believe that the authenticity of what we are doing will speak for itself and Nigerians will come to believe in what we are doing.”
