Group declares support for new administration, calls for truce in National Assembly impasse

THE Executive Council Meeting of the Yoruba Unity Forum (YUF), held at Efunyela Hall, Ikenne, Ogun State recently, has appealed to all APC chieftains, members of the political class and the National Assembly leadership, to urgently arrest the ongoing feud in the National Assembly, in the interest of the nation’s peace and stability.

National-Assembly-BuildingTHE Executive Council Meeting of the Yoruba Unity Forum (YUF), held at Efunyela Hall, Ikenne, Ogun State recently, has appealed to all APC chieftains, members of the political class and the National Assembly leadership, to urgently arrest the ongoing feud in the National Assembly, in the interest of the nation’s peace and stability.

The meeting also called for an unflinching support and co-operation for President Muhammadu Buhari and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo administration, especially in its dogged strides for an egalitarian society and Nation, “where no man is oppressed,” through the much amplified change, according to a statement released by Senator Anthony Adefuye, the secretary-general of YUF.

To this end, the meeting resolved to host the Vice President, Prof. Osinbajo to a very grand reception soonest at Ikenne, Ogun State, his hometown.

Yoruba Unity Forum (YUF) is a non-political socio-cultural group, which is the umbrella of other groups, societies and affiliates of the Yoruba race.

The executive council also nominated some members into the planning committee for the centenary birthday celebrations of Chief H.I.D Awolowo, which is expected to hold at Ikenne, Remo, Ogun State, on November 25, 2015, the day she would clock be 100 years.
