Human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN) has charged the government at all levels to respect rights of the citizens by distributing wealth of the country equitably.

Falana made this known in Lagos on Friday while delivering lecture at the Gladys High School, Ketu Biannual Educative programme with the theme: ‘Fundamental Human Rights’.

He said there are basic rights recognized by the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria among which includes right to health, food, education,shelter, noting that ‎it is important that every citizens enjoy these rights.

According to him, it is the duty of government to provide basic amenities and distribute the wealth of our country equitably. “Government must treat citizen equally. Section 42 stipulates that there shall be no discrimination, every child must be treated equally. Government must fix the public schools, get involve in agriculture, equip the hospitals among others”, he stated.

He noted that one of the promises made by president Mohammadu Buhari during campaign ‎is to look into the area of feeding students.
