Brand marketing unites MediaReach OMD, Google
To ensure that brand’s marketing communication messages on the digital platforms make needed impact in its interaction with the consumers, the Country Manager, Google Nigeria, Juliet Ehimuan Chiazor, has said the process must maintain emotional engagement besides creating awareness.
According to her, about 2000 marketing communication messages were exposed to a consumer daily, which implied that the ones that engaged the consumer emotionally got more attention from the consumers.
For her, that is why marketing on the digital platform was about getting attention. She said this in Lagos last week during Google Day held at mediaReach OMD office, where both organizations analysed the opportunities in the digital platforms for brands and why it should be adopted in reaching the market.
In providing reasons for the partnership, Chiazor said apart from her organisation’s belief in a win-win relationship, it was also interested in innovation, which she claimed was in its DNA.
She further said that it was about how to work together to create magic and take things to another level. She stated that the things her company took seriously in its innovation drive were focus on “the users, doing one thing really well rather than doing many things, great is not just good enough and fast is always better than slow”.
Some of Google’s products exhibited at the forum were Google Voice Search, Google Maps, Google Now and Google Photo Sphere. Also echoing the same views, Chief Executive Officer of MediaReach OMD, Tolu Ogunkoya, noted that there were still many players who were undecided about the relevance of digital brand marketing despite its importance in today’s marketing communication.
According to him, “It is high time we decided to take active steps in the interest of our corporations”. Meanwhile, Chief Digital Officer of MediaReach OMD, Patrick Gomes, acknowledged that social media had an important role to play in placing corporations ahead of competition in the market.
His words: “At MediaReach OMD, we are aware of the new trend towards digital marketing, as the future of brand communication.
We already have channeled our process towards the development and our clients have started benefiting from the initiative.”
