AHEAD of the swearing-in of the president elect, come May 29, the Alimosho Youth Development Association of Nigeria has expressed gratitude to God and Nigerians for the choice of leadership selected in the just concluded 2015 polls. The group at a parley in Lagos expressed optimism in the coming administration, saying the time for change in Nigeria has finally come.

Speaking at the gathering in Lagos on Wednesday, the president of AYDAN, Abubakar Ishola, who spoke on behalf of the youths, described Buhari’s victory as worthwhile and pledged the support of his group and other positive-minded youths.

Ishola, however, advised the president-elect to be discerning in selecting his cabinet members and avoid appointment based on party affiliation, tribal or ethnic divides. “As a leader of the nation, Buhari should bridge the gap between all warring factions for the sake of peace and unity in this country,” he said.

Arguing that the failure of the current administration should be a lesson for the incoming government, Ishola stressed the need for due process and the rule of law to serve as foundation pillars.
