Police Rescues Kidnapped Niger Deputy Governor’s Younger Brother

NIGER State Police Command has said that it has rescued, Alhaji Yakubu Ibeto, the younger brother of the state’s Deputy Governor, Hon. Ahmed Musa Ibeto, who was kidnapped last weekend by some gunmen in his house at Ibeto, in Magama Local Council of the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olusola E. Amore disclosed this in Minna on Thursday evening shortly after he commissioned a Gymnasium donated by the Senior Officers of the Command.

He said that the victim was taken to an undisclosed hideout in Kebbi State immediately his abductors kidnapped him.

Amore said the victim was abandoned by the kidnappers somewhere in Zuru-Wanta some few kilometres from Dabeh in Yahuri Local Council neighbouring Kebbi State about 3.00am on Wednesday.

The Commissioner stated that the relatives did not pay any money as ransom before his release by the kidnappers.

He said that no arrest had been made but assured that efforts were being made by the Police to be on the trail of the fleeing kidnappers with a view to ensuring that they are arrested and brought to book.
