Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, yesterday dismissed claims that some politicians will upstage him and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2016 Governorship elections in state.

GOV._HENRY_SERIAKE_DICKSONBayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, yesterday dismissed claims that some politicians will upstage him and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2016 Governorship elections in state.

According Governor Dickson, although the PDP in the State has witnessed cases of defections, anti-Party activities by some elective and appointed leaders, the outcome of the just concluded elections have shown that   the party is still very strong in the state.

The Governor, who briefed newsmen at the State Banquet hall, said the party was ready for the purported take-over bid by the opposition during the

2016 elections. He also announced that a special contact and mobilization committee would be set up to take care of grievances and complaints from genuine party members in the State.

According to Dickson,” our state belongs to PDP and the results of elections have shown this. We have demonstrated our capability during the past elections where we won three seats of the senate. There is no threat to PDP under my watch. Those of us who love this state belong to PDP, this state will continue to be PDP.”

“Please tell these people that we are ready for them.. We are ready to spread the restoration story. Their own politics is for their families and wives. But our politics is for the development of the state. When next they come to you, please ask them what they have done for Bayelsa.”

Governor Dickson, who turned prayer warrior, while commenting on the recent defections of some PDP members into the All Progressive

Congress (APC), declared that those defecting into the opposition party and expecting political benefits will be met by disappointments. “Those that have benefited from the PDP and are defecting with expectation of benefits from the APC shall have disappointment as their portion, in Jesus name.”

The governor said the party would no longer condone indiscipline and disloyalty from members, saying, “all the kinds of characters I have been tolerating, those days are gone. This is a new order. Most of the so-called people in Abuja from this state are major beneficiaries of our restoration government. A number of them have big contracts, which were given to them; which they have abandoned. And very soon, I am going to tell our people who most of those characters are.
