Oando marketing rewards distributors for best performance

Oando Marketing Plc, a leading oil marketing company recently rewarded best performing lubricant distributors nationwide for their outstanding performance in 2014 financial year in an event comprising of an award ceremony tagged “Lubes Distributors Award 2015”and strategic business review meeting with its top performing lubricants distributors from various regions across the country.

At the award ceremony, which held at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Lekki, Alhaji Hamisu Dantiki, who emerged Best Distributor of the previous year, also won the “Gold Category” to be the Best Distributor. Similarly, the trio of Aronu Ifeanyi, Ogbus Enterprise, and Adeleke Lateef emerged as winners of the “Aluminium Category” awards.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Operating Officer, Oando Marketing Plc., Olaposi Williams, commended the awardees and all the distributors for a job well done in the previous year, describing everyone as “winners.”

She also said that the award ceremony, which is in its third year was organised as a platform to reward outstanding lubricant distributors as well as encourage other distributors to be inspired by the exemplary feat of the awardees in a bid to double their efforts to succeed.

This years’ event also saw distributors being treated to some wellbeing-enhancing sessions such as aerobics, spa treatments, amongst others.

Williams stated that with the substantial support put behind the lubricant business especially the Oleum brand by the company, the brand has not reached the zenith of the company’s expectation in the market and therefore appealed to the distributors to push further and go the “extra mile” in promoting the brand. She said: “We’ve conducted various researches on the Oando Lubricant in order to know how best to carry out our marketing activities.

Based on feedbacks, we have added more activities to our marketing efforts across board, which had led to a number of initiatives such as the mechanic training exercise to which 5,000 mechanics will be trained over the next five years as the first batch from 2014 are set to graduate.

“Also, we are partnering with other industry stakeholders including the Lady Mechanic Initiative which led to us supporting the 10th Anniversary of the initiative and inauguration of the Lady Mechanic Alumni. The essence of all this is to allow the public know and understand the brand and also enable your productivity as lubricant distributors.”

She added: “As the company is playing its role to create awareness for Oando lubricant, we equally expect our distributors, our dealers, and our vendors to play their role and that is to continue to push the brand forward.”

Williams assured the lubricant distributors of the company’s continuous support for their businesses and asked them to continue to project the unique selling points of Oando lubricant so that the target audience can always associate the brand with creativity, quality and innovation adding that Oleum as a brand is what everyone should be proud of because it is wholly indigenous.

To conclude the award ceremony, the overall best distributor, Alhaji Hamisu Dantiki commended the company for their initiatives, assuring that such an exercise will further boost distributors’ morale in pushing the lubricant business in the market.

He specifically assured the company of his commitment to ensure Oando lubricant will continue to maintain its leadership position in the market.
