NWC Lawlessness Kills Pdp – Adamawa Ex-Governor

The former Acting governor of Adamawa state and Nigeria Ambassador toTunisia Mr. James Barka,has blamed the collapsed of his former party
the People’s Democratic Party [PDP] on what he described as lawlessness of the National Working Committee [NWC] of the party.

Barka who spoke to The Guardian yesterday in Yola accused the Alhaji Adamu Muazu, led leadership of reducing the party to a lawless
organization that did not have respect for the rule of law.

“I left PDP when I discover that the party was hijack by people that have no respect for the rule of law, they were running the party as
one of their family’s inheritance property. There is no responsible man or woman that has respect for the constitution of Nigeria will
remain in such party”, he stated.

The former speaker of Adamawa state House of Assembly [Barka] said that the results of the 2015 general elections which PDP shamefully
lost was the decision of Nigerians to tell the leadership of PDP that nobody has the monopoly of abusing the rights of the people to elect
their leaders.

“See the shameful thing PDP did in Adamawa, other parties conducted their primaries in the state capital Yola, but PDP because the party
has interest in selected candidates took its primaries to Abuja, this is the worse disrespect for the rule of law. What happen to PDP during elections will remain a lesson to the party and other parties too will avoid dying the way PDP was murdered by the leadership of the party”, he maintained.

On the administration of the governor-elect Senator Jibrilla Bindo, he expressed confident that the governor will use his business experience and rescued the state from the claws of poverty.

“The good thing about Bindo’s leadership in the state is that he will use his wealth of business experience which the past governors don’t have and boost the economy of the state,”, he said.

He lamented on why states like Adamawa that have many resources to make money will be waiting for Abuja to pay workers monthly salaries.
“If we have a governor that is business oriented like senator Bindo the state can pay workers and still have money for projects.

We have the biggest cattle market in West Africa here in Adamawa, but all the past government did not organized the market in a way that the state will be generating revenue. If that cattle market is in a state like Lagos the government will organize it in such a way that the revenue from that market alone can pay workers of the state”, he maintained.

He appealed to the people of the state to give their total support to the senator Bindo’s led administration to enable him to change the
fortunes of the state.

According to Barka, those that see government appointment as opportunity for them to have free access to public funds will be
disappointed, pointing out that the incoming government will be prudent and transparent with public funds to ensure that the people enjoyed the fruit of voting All Progressive Congress[APC] in the state.
