AN armed robbery suspect, who has been on the run from the police for many months, has been arrested on his wedding day. And what would have been the happiest day for his bride in Ibadan, Oyo State, turned out to be her day of sorrow as the state Police Command swooped on the venue of the wedding to arrest the groom who turned out to be a wanted notorious armed robber.

According to the police, the 42-year-old robbery suspect, Olumide Asiyanbi, was arrested just as he was about signing the dotted lines with his bride by policemen attached to the state task force team that has been on his trail for months.

The police alleged that Asiyanbi was a member of a deadly six-man robbery gang that had been terrorising the people of Ibadan and other neighbouring states, pulse.ng reports.

Confessing his involvement in over 10 different robbery attacks before he was arrested, Asiyanbi believed it was nemesis that caught up with him on the day he wanted to walk down the aisle. Asinyanbi said: “I was arrested on my wedding day.

I met the gang leader, James Agba, last year. He told me he knew how we could be getting regular money. He then initiated me into the gang.
