NEMA Distributes Relief Materials In Plateau

From Iau State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has provided relief materials to the Internally Displaced People (IDP) in the state, even as the Foundation For the Victims of Child Abuse has intensified efforts to ensure that the IDPs presently scattered across some parts of the North, returns back to their home states without further delay.

NEMA distributed relief materials to people in communities of Bangai, Sopp, Kwi and Jol all in Riyom Local Government Area, whose houses and other means of livelihood have been completely destroyed by Fulani herdsmen resident in the area.

Distributing the items, the leader of the legislative council of the Local Government, Hon. Bature Sati noted that the amount of the relief materials provided was quite insufficient to truly serve as relief, when compared to the volumes of property destroyed.

While campaigning for the immediate return of the IDPs to their home states, the Foundation For the Victims of Child Abuse has begun to visit the various camps of the IDPs where it distributed several household materials and consumables such as bags of rice, beverages, Iron roofing sheets, mosquito nets among others. Most of the victims had fled their homes in Borno, Adamawaa and Yobe States to other parts of the North due to Boko Haram insurgence.

Presenting materials to about 873 victims presently in Kunchikworo IDP camp in Abuja, at the weekend, the President of the Foundation, General Abduraham Bello Dambazau called on the Federal government to take good steps to begin the process of returning them to their States of origin.
