Gov. Umaru Al-Makura announced the donation on Monday in Lafia when he hosted the Governing Council of the institution led by its chairman, Mr Bashiru Arogbofa.

He said the donation of the hospital located in Lafia was to facilitate the smooth take off of a medical school.

The governor gave an assurance that his administration would continue to collaborate with the university in a bid to transform the education sector.

“ This administration has allocated 260 hectares for the institution’s development and another 100 hectares have been earmarked for future use,” Al-Makura said.

The governor commended the council and management of the university for ensuring the successful take off and growth of the institution.

Earlier, Arogbofa had congratulated Al-Makura over his re-election, attributing this to hard work and commitment to the development of the state.

He said that the governor had been a pillar of support for the take-off of the institution through various initiatives.

Arogbofa, however, appealed to the state government for land to ensure a smooth take off of the medical school.
