Group Tasks Buhari On Niger Delta Development

A group, under the aegis of Niger Delta Transparency and Integrity Coalition (NDTIC), has called on the President -elect, Mohammadu  Buhari to give priority attention to the development of  Niger Delta region considering that, President Goodluck Jonathan implemented  mega projects in the Northern States.

A group, under the aegis of Niger Delta Transparency and Integrity Coalition (NDTIC), has called on the President -elect, Mohammadu  Buhari to give priority attention to the development of  Niger Delta region considering that, President Goodluck Jonathan implemented  mega projects in the Northern States.

National President of the group, Comrade Chinagorom Nwonkwo, who spoke to journalists in Port Harcourt, said was necessary for Buhari to replicate same goodwill to the region by ensuring adequate funding of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to further enable it deliver its mandate to the people of the region.

“NDTIC pledges its sincere support for the incoming administration of Gen. Mohammadu Buhari and his team and plead for prompt funding of NDDC as stipulated in the Acts as this will enable them perform credibly.”

Nwonkwo also reiterated the groups call on the Federal government to release the N745 billion accumulated outstanding payment to the Commission.
