Glass 1THE use of glass blocks as building materials has been in practice for decades. Glass blocks are favoured especially where translucence and durability are important. They are attractive and add a classy touch to architectural designs or buildings.

These blocks are used both in the interior and exterior of buildings, and can offer great design opportunities. They have luxurious look that blend with many architectural styles – whether for building new homes or remodelling projects.

They are versatile in use and can be used in internal structures such as straight walls, curved applications for separating partitions and allowing light to get to corridors. Kitchens and bathrooms benefit greatly from the elegant ambience that glass blocks creates.

Clear glass blocks allows up to 79 per cent of natural light to pass through. Among the places where glass blocks are used include staircases, windows basements and bathrooms, skylights in kitchens, and partitions in rooms at home, office or commercial space. They can even be used in other items such as bookcases and peninsula bar.

Externally, glass blocks can be incorporated into garden features with introduction of lighting in a manner that creates moods in the place.
