The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says the junior national team, Flying Eagles, have no reason to fail at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup because they have received adequate support to excel at the competition, which kicks off in New Zealand next week.

According to NFF Technical Committee Chairman, Felix Anyansi Agwu, who spoke from the Flying Eagles’ training camp in Germany on Tuesday, the Federation’s decision to camp the team in Germany despite its lean finances was to give them the best preparation ahead of the World Cup.

The Enyimba of Aba boss, who is satisfied by the level of commitment being displayed by the Flying Eagles’ players and officials since they arrived in Germany, said the NFF would do everything within its power to help the boys win the World Cup.

Anyansi, who said the federation did not influence the final list of players picked by Coach Manu Garba for the championship, added that the players were worthy to be in the squad to New Zealand.

“The NFF has been on ground since the Flying Eagles arrived in Germany and with the level of support the boys have received, I don’t think the team have any excuse not to deliver the World Cup. We are ready to continue motivating the boys in any capacity to ensure they came out victorious in New Zealand,” he said.
