Ebonyi APGA chairman urges Umeh to reconcile aggrieved members

THE Ebonyi State chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr. Jerry Obasi, has called on the party’s national chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, to reconcile aggrieved members, beginning from Anambra State.

Obasi made the call in Abakaliki while briefing journalists on the planned national convention of the party. He noted that this is the right time for the party to bring back aggrieved members to their fold.

He added that those offended by the party should be allowed to run for positions, adding that APGA needs to be re-positioned.

He said that he was so excited about the upcoming convention because it created for wards to wards congresses, local government congresses, state and zonal congresses, even as it resonates the characteristics of the 2005 convention that returned Umeh.

The state chairman, however, stated that it would be the first time in recent years that APGA would be functioning as effective democratic setting.

He pleaded that those that have worked immensely for the party financially and otherwise should be accorded the necessary respect and should be allowed to partake in running the party.

“Some of these people after loosing the election will dump APGA and join another political party; and, at that time, the damage will have been done. So, that is why I advise that those that have suffered for the party should be allowed to hold positions.
