The Proprietress of Altitude Group of Schools in Lagos, Alhaja Ramota Abass, has appealed to parents and teachers to help children recognise and develop their natural gifts and talents to enable them realise and fulfil their potentials and purpose in life.

She made the suggestion at the opening session of the Altitude Schools’ 7th Biennial Inter-house Sports held at Ans-Ar-Deen College, Isolo, Lagos.

“What our teachers discovered is that many children are richly gifted with very unique and fascinating talents that needed to be explored for their usefulness in future. This is why our school is embarking on talents hunts for these children.”

According her, the students are being prepared for future challenges through hard work, honesty, diligence, efficiency and patience.

The children entertained guests with an exhibition of their creativities and talents to the admiration of the spectators. Eleven-year-old Aishat Ikandu engaged in an exciting acrobatic display that impressed the chairmen of the occasion in the persons of Mr. Emeka Ikwuagwu George and Alhaji Babatunde Sanni.

Other highlights were the displays of cultural dances including the Zulu dance, picking the balls, filling the jugs, slippers race, athletics, dressing to school and sack race among others.

All the four Houses (Blue, Red, Green and Purple) participated in the competition. Invited schools were not left out of the fun, as they took home a lot of gift items. Owners of the four Houses graced the event and donated trophies.
