THE re-elected governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, yesterday dedicated his victory to all residents of the state, pledging to live up to expectation during his second term.

Also, the governor has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the contest, Emeka Ihedioha, to act the way President Goodluck Jonathan did by congratulating Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), and congratulate him.

Speaking at a special church service held at the Victory Chapel, Government House, Owerri, Okorocha also promised to sponsor about 1,000 youths to Turkey for skills training to work in industries he plans to set up, adding that about 25,000 people already engaged on part time would be employed on permanent bases within the period.

The service was attended by former governor of Anambra State, Chris Ngige, All Progressives Congress (APC), South West National Vice Chairman, Segun Oni, former governorship aspirant in Imo, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, Chief Ezekiel Izuogu, Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu, the National Organizing Secretary of the APC, Chief Osita Izunaso, commissioners, monarchs and aides.

Okorocha said: “This victory is one that the Lord has made and we shall rejoice. It is victory for Imo people, the poor and downtrodden.

Let me announce today that I am the executive governor of the PDP. I am the executive governor of the APC. I am the executive governor of APGA.

This is indeed the Imo of my dream. This will be the last four years as governor. I speak to you with my vision that this time around, there will be new Imo State, with industries, factories, and jobs.”

He added that education remained the main priority of his regime in the next four years. While regretting the campaign of calumny and hate by his opponents, Okorocha said he was on the right track by leading Ndigbo to the APC, adding that though the entire South East was yet to embrace the APC, he was optimistic that Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), would not turn his back on the geo-political zone.

He stated that he had halted the spate of armed robbery, kidnappings, and other crimes in the state, promising that he would do more. He noted that the free education initiated and sustained by him had yielded fruits, stating that his administration would improve on this in the next four years.
