Mimiko appoints Fasakin poly rector
Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has announced Prof. Adedayo Fasakin as the pioneer rector of the newly established Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji in Ondo State.
Prof. Fasakin until his appointment was a Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure.
Mimiko, who presented the rector to the Jegun of Ile-Oluji, Oba Stephen Suulade Adedugbe in his palace at a short ceremony witnessed by the chiefs and members of the community, described the development as a fulfillment of President Goodluck Jonathan’s promise to create more access to quality education across the country.
Governor Mimiko also described the establishment of the institution in Ile-Oluji as a fulfilment of the age-long dream of the people of the community for a tertiary institution, noting that the dream has now been actualised during the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Mimiko, who described the rector as a development-driven administrator, charged the people to support him so that he can build a world-class polytechnic that Nigeria will be proud of.
