Man  docked for theft

A 67 year old man, Albert Oyebade was on Tuesday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court over alleged theft of goods worth N56.2 million. The accused and others still at large is facing a two count charge of conspiracy and stealing leveled against him by the police.

HandcuffA 67 year old man, Albert Oyebade was on Tuesday arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court over alleged theft of  goods worth N56.2 million. The accused and others still at large is facing a two count charge of conspiracy and stealing leveled against him by  the police.

The accused  was docked before Magistrate Oluwatoyin Fowowe. The prosecutor,  Godwin Oria told the court that the defendants and others at large, committed the alleged offence on April 13, 2015, at about 1pm and that the incident took place at Bajumo Street Balogun in Lagos Island area of the state.

Oria further told  the court that the accused,   Oyebade   stole items worth N56.2 . He analysed  the items as follow:  twenty tons of iron rods value at N25m; six hundred bags of cement value N1.2m; Aluminium and Zinc roofing sheets value at N5m and 150 pieces of rolling doors value at N25m, which belong to one Alhaji Waheed Ogunbiyi, and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 409 and 285 of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.

However Magistrate Fowowe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N5million with two responsible sureties in like sum. The matter was adjourned till May 20, for mention.
