Fr I thank you for your write up. Lent should primarily be a moment of reflection to enhance our love for God and humans. This for me is the essence of Love.However, what image of God do you have when you think of fasting. Is God a sadist that takes joy in our pain. Don’t you preach that God is love. I believe that people can still experience God with filled stomach. As a leader I think you should read more about the purpose of things. You are not expected to copy our forebears totally in everything they did: some they were inspired and some they did simply as humans. Please our people have suffered so much in the hands of bad politicians stop imposing further heavy yoke on them.
