Jahman, Cobhams, Abija, Okosi Others Honoured At NECLive, As DaGrin Gets One Minute Silence

IN recognition of their contributions to the promotion and development of Nigerian entertainment, former editor, The Guardian on Sunday and culture activist/advocate as well as arts and entertainment writer, Jahman Anikulapo, music critic and broadcaster, Benson Idonije, award winning music producer, Cobhams Asuquo, MTV Base Chief, Alex Okosi, and OAP, Jacob Akinyemi Johnson (J.A.J) were among the prominent Nigerian entertainment personalities honoured at the third edition of Nigerian Entertainment Conference tagged NECLive, with the theme: ‘Buying and Selling Nigerian Entertainment and Everything In-Between’, which held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos on Wednesday, April 22.

IN recognition of their contributions to the promotion and development of Nigerian entertainment, former editor, The Guardian on Sunday and culture activist/advocate as well as arts and entertainment writer, Jahman Anikulapo, music critic and broadcaster, Benson Idonije, award winning music producer, Cobhams Asuquo, MTV Base Chief, Alex Okosi, and OAP, Jacob Akinyemi Johnson (J.A.J) were among the prominent Nigerian entertainment personalities honoured at the third edition of Nigerian Entertainment Conference tagged NECLive, with the theme: ‘Buying and Selling Nigerian Entertainment and Everything In-Between’, which held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos on Wednesday, April 22.

Others honoured are Director General Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), Emeka Mba, legendary actor and musician, Moses Olaiya aka Baba Sala, renowned poet and actor, Adebayo Faleti, Yoruba actor, Tajudeen Oyewole popularly known as Abija, Corporate Pictures chief executive officer, Razak Abdullahi, actor cum film-maker, Lere Paimo, Galaxy TV CEO, Steve Ojo, COSON Board chairman Tony Okoroji and singer, Lagbaja.

According to organisers of the conference, Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET), the NET honours are awarded annually at the Nigerian Entertainment Conference.

They recognize media and entertainment personalities for their contributions to the growth and development of the entertainment industry in Nigeria, which cuts across music, film, fashion, comedy, art and design, media and broadcasting and branding.

The convener and chairman of the conference, Ayeni Adekunle, while delivering his welcome address announced the launch of a new platform by NET known as Orin, a new music streaming website that will provide music on the go for music lovers. He also, observed a minute silence in honour of late rapper, DaGrin, whose 5th year remembrance coincided with the day.
