University-Of-UyoFOR the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital (UUTH) to maintain its excellent services in the dialysis unit and to consistently have enough blood in its blood bank, two donors have donated a 60KVA sound-proof generating set and a Blood Mobile Van to the hospital.

The generating plant was donated by God Ambassador Mission International Uyo, while the Blood Mobile Van was donated by Safe Blood Africa United States (USA) in conjunction with Rotary Clubs in California USA.

Appreciating these kind gestures, the Chief Medical Director of the Teaching Hospital, Prof. Etete Peters thanked God for the public-spirited individual who donated the generating set to the dialysis unit. His joy stemmed for the fact that, being a unit that serves patients from the South-South, South East and the Cameroons, working in the unit, the plant has been working tirelessly for 24 hours, sometimes when there’s no light.

Earlier, the President of Rotary Club, Uyo Dr Val Attah, noted that Safe Blood Africa project is an International partnership and collaboration which started in 2010, that the presentations of the Mobile Blood Van was a culmination of meetings with all the bodies and institutions involved in the initiative.

He commended the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital for its show of commitment and expressed ownership of the project, adding that, such became possible because of the efficient, effective and visionary leadership of the Chief Medical Director and his medical team.
