THE Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has ended its eight-day Easter Special Patrol, which lasted from April 1 to 8, 2015. During the exercise, 2,033 motorists were arrested for 2,268 different offences with 650 vehicles impounded by the commission.

The special patrol exercise featured deployment of over 500 officers and men along the three critical corridors in the state, which included Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Lekki-Épé expressway and Lagos-Badagry expressway.

The exercise was designed to ensure a crash-free celebration by the motoring public particularly along the busy corridors. The command equally deployed 35 patrol vehicles, four motorbikes and two ambulances for the operation.

Lagos Sector Commander, Hyginus Omeje, said during the Easter celebration, FRSC also engaged in motor park rallies and road shows to educate motorists on dangers of driving under influence of alcohol.
