dbanjsongwriter, A-list singer and multi-award winner, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo (a.k.a D’Banj) was recently at the new ultra-modern regional administrative headquarter and laboratories of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Lagos to lend support to the agency’s campaign against counterfeit drugs and other substandard regulated products in the country.

The No Long Thing crooner, who has several awards, including the MTV Europe Music Award For Best African Act to his credit, was conducted round NAFDAC’s laboratories at Oshodi and Yaba, as part of the agency’s activities to draw attention to its fight against fake and counterfeit products across the country.

Commending the agency for its relentless fight against counterfeit drugs, which is making many to lose their lives, D’banj noted that the fight will save many lives and build hope on our drugs. He, then, called on the agency to disseminate the information to Nigerian youths, who are ignorant about public health issues and regulatory activities.

“I am very impressed and inspired with what I have seen at NAFDAC laboratories. Before now, I find it difficult to distinguish a genuine drug from the counterfeit. We hear a lot of news about fake drugs, but from what I have seen, I am now well informed,” he said.

The songwriter praised the Director General of NAFDAC for making the agency one of the top 20 medicines Regulatory Authorities in the world.

Director General of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii, who was highly elated, said D’banj’s visit was a morale booster and source of encouragement for the agency.

Dr. Orhii praised the A-list artiste for his show of solidarity and readiness to strengthen NAFDAC’s public enlightenment campaign through his musical platform.

Music industry observers are looking forward to hearing the D Kokomaster come up with a song that shows his support for the agency.
