Chime congraitulates Ugwuanyi, describes victory as people’s wishes
Gov. Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has described the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as a true reflection of the people’s wishes.
In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Chukwudi Achife in Enugu on Sunday, Chime also said that the patry’s clean sweep in the state assembly election confirmed it as the most popular and acceptable in the state.
He thanked the people of the state for their `unshakeable faith’ in the new course of good governance championed by the PDP and entrenched by his administration.
Chime assured the people that the incoming administration would never deviate from the noble path.
The governor also commended the INEC and the security agencies for the peaceful and successful conduct of the elections, saying that they lived up to their mandate.
The News Agency of (NAN) reports that Ugwuanyi won the April 11 governorship election with 482,277 votes to beat APC’s Okey Ezea who scored 43,839 votes. (NAN)
