Being a musician in Nigeria is not an easy task- Icemamo

Oni Isaac Oluwatoyosi, popularly known as Icemamo, has shed light on the challenges of pursuing a music career in Nigeria.

Oni Isaac Oluwatoyosi, popularly known as Icemamo, has shed light on the challenges of pursuing a music career in Nigeria. The Osun indigene reflected on the struggles faced by aspiring musicians in the country, citing the example of the late Mohbad, whose life was tragically cut short despite his determination.

“To be very honest, when I heard about Mohbad’s struggles, especially with his family background, it resonated with me. Many of us face similar family battles in silence, but I found solace in expressing myself through music,” Icemamo shared.

He expressed admiration for those who have made a mark in the industry and remained relevant over time. “My mentor, who taught me beat production, may not be a musician himself, but he always encouraged me to share my story through music. People like Mohbad, Zlatan Ibile, Olamide Baddo, Burna Boy, and others have truly made a difference,” he added.

As a storytelling Afropop artist and rapper, Icemamo emphasized the importance of singing about relatable experiences. “I focus on narrating life circumstances that people can connect with. Whether it’s my own life or the experiences of those around me, I aim to tell stories through my music,” he explained.

Despite his talent, Icemamo humbly admitted that he has yet to perform live but eagerly anticipates the opportunity. “I’m really drawn to live music, and I can’t wait for the day I get to perform live,” he expressed.

Currently, Icemamo is working on his upcoming project titled “DADDY’s girl,” which chronicles his journey as a father and the promises he has made to his daughter through his music.

Discussing his creative process, Icemamo revealed that he meticulously writes his songs, unlike impulsive singers who rely solely on inspiration in the studio. “I jot down ideas as they come to mind and then mentally rehearse them to ensure they resonate with listeners. I’m always open to making revisions to enhance the quality of my music,” he shared.

In conclusion, Icemamo highlighted the stark contrast between life on the streets and life at home, emphasizing that survivors often have unique perspectives on life. As he continues his musical journey, Icemamo remains committed to sharing authentic stories that resonate with audiences across Nigeria and beyond.

Ikuru is now in the cooler dishonourable

Ikuru has calculated wrongly and will lose political relevance in the coming four years unless PDP win in Rivers Governorship election and even with that nobody will have trust in him because he has deceived his former boss

Ikuru was schemed out of tins in APC Rivers state and was certainly not going to get anything from federal even if he remained in APC. His best option was to defect.
PDP will surely win Rivers and he can have a say, he knows for sure that he can’t work with that rude boy they call dakuku.

The boy- Ikuru worked for me as a corper in warri and he wasn’t an intelligent boy, very dull and as a so called engineer, does not even know the rudiments of engineering.

Ikiru your political chances are gone forever. See what God has done. A pig shall remain a pig, even if a pig leaves in white house. You belong to loser caucus and you have demonstrated it. Thanks for given others patriotic Nigerians a space in our party.

Ikuru with the benefit of hindsight will regret his decision to leave APC. Peterside will win on the 11th and Rivers people will not like to remain in opposition, now that their dandy Prseident son in law has been disgraced at the polls. Shame to IKURU for being tactless in his decisions. Amaechi is a warrior and hero of democracy in Nigeria. Wike is a thug and the thought of his being the Governor will reap Rivers off. He failed in Abuja as a junior minister and he will fail again, especially after his Principal and his acclaimed mum are on their way to Otuoke. Shame to Wike.

U must be from another planet. Peterside win election how. The same man that worked against his Ijaw brother now asking for the ijaws to support him. U must likely don’t live in PH.

Big miscalculation for for Ikuru, While Amaechi will be adequately rewarded, Mr Ikuru is already irrelevant in the face of crushing defeat. Rivers PDP is too focused on how to survive the new era to bother about a new comer.
