Police redeploys 17 senior officers for 2015 polls

In the same vein, the IGP, according to Ojukwu, ordered, for the period of the elections, the redeployment of six commissioners of Police (CPs) to new Commands. The new CPs are Hosea Karma (Rivers State Command), Adamu Mohammed (Anambra State Command), Dan Bature (Enugu State), Usman Abdullahi (Katsina State Command), Jimoh Ozi-Obeh (Benue State) and Hyacinth Dagala (Department of Operations, FHQ Abuja).

IGP-Suleiman-AbbaTHE Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, yesterday redeployed senior police officers to coordinate the different zonal command of the force for the period of the elections.

The move, according to the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Mr. Emmanuel C. S. Ojukwu (Ag. CP), is for the successful conduct of the general elections.

Seventeen senior officers — six deputy inspectors-general (DIG), five assistant inspectors-general (AIG) and six Commissioners of Police (CP) — were affected by the exercise that was announced barely 48 hours to the much-awaited Presidential and National Assembly elections.
In the DIG category are Dan’Azumi Doma, who was redeployed as Coordinator for the South East zone; Mamman Tsafe (South-South); Hashimu Argungu (South West); Christopher Katso (North West), Hilary Opara (North East) and Adeola Adeniji (North Central zone)

AIGs redeployed as assistant coordinators include Kalafite Adeyemi, (South West Zone), Bala Magaji Nasarawa (North Central); Adisa Bolanta (North West), Usman Gwary (AIG Federal Operations, Abuja) and Mark Idakwo (Zone 9, Umuahia)

In the same vein, the IGP, according to Ojukwu, ordered, for the period of the elections, the redeployment of six commissioners of Police (CPs) to new Commands. “The IGP directed all officers to exhibit the highest level of personal and professional conduct in the discharge of their duties,” Ojukwu said in an electronic mail last night.
