Kwankwaso’s Aide, Others Defect To PDP
A SERVING member of the House of Representatives from Kano State, Bashir Husain, and the Special Assistant to Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on Empowerment Programme, Hajia Maryma Kofar Mata, were among the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The development, according to a statement made available by the media office of Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo, yesterday, is a fallout of the visit of Sambo to the state.
According to the statement, Husain is representing Gwale Federal Constituency, while Kofar Mata was the immediate past State Women Leader of APC.
It added that Sambo, during the Kano visit, met with several stakeholders, where he urged them to reach out to the people and inform them of the achievements of the President Jonathan-led administration and the laudable programmes of the PDP. The fallout of these stakeholders’ meetings was the defection of the two stalwarts of APC.
The Vice President, while receiving the decampees, welcomed them warmly to the shade provided by the party, stressing that PDP’s umbrella was large enough to accommodate anyone interested in joining the party.
He urged them to feel at home and work assiduously for the victory of the party in the forthcoming elections, so that the party and the administration would continue to move the country forward.
Sambo, who described the PDP as “the party of Nigeria with the most people oriented programmes that has been transforming the socio-economic wellbeing of Nigerians in the right direction,” also added, “PDP is Nigeria, and Nigeria is PDP. If you go to every corner and the remotest part of Nigeria, PDP has a system in place.”
In their response, the decampees said they defected from the APC because the PDP and the administration of President Jonathan and Vice President Sambo, have been delivering more and better dividends of democracy to Nigerians through their Transformation Agenda. They pledged to work tirelessly to move the party and the country to greater heights.

JAMB/Dibu.Ojerinde explotation in the name of JAMB. Federal government need to do something about the procedure JAMB have decided to adopt in the recent time to exploit parents. You buy form at N4,000.00, check result for N1,500.00, queue and pay PR to print exam clearance slip due to limited access/approved centers. You will print admission letter with N1,500.00 card. the cards have limited number of access once exhausted you will buy another one. This is unfair to masses. I do not know what our leaders are doing about this despite allocation being given to JAMB every year. I learnt Prof. buried his father some years back and was spending stack of N1000 notes on King Sunny Ade at Oke Ogun area. When will corruption or outright stealing stop in this country. We need to stop this dark continent by bringing light into it. Be a light. Regards.
Even Kwankwaso himself is bitting a finger of regret for defecting from the rulling party to the weak opposition party.
By the end of the forth coming election they shall all confess their mistakes.

most of you guys comment is either based on ethnicity , religion or myopic view of the problems awaiting who ever win this forth coming election. May be I need to delve a little bit into the social economic situation in the country probably most of you will think twice if not many time before endorsing any candidate or shouting GEJ or Buhari . Right now your naira is on the verge of becoming Zimbabwe Dollars which means it might soon be worthless in International market, second, your foreign reserve as of yesterday in the World bank can hardly sustain your import provision for another two years in a row the way and manner we spent our reserve in the last five months, .Third the Industries are having hard time purchasing Forex even when they do it at exorbitant rate which means price of finished goods will go up. Fourthly when these industries find that their goods are no longer in demand due to high cost they will to have lay workers to reduce their overheads and what does that translate to, increase in already high unemployment rate which will translate to people not working and increase in crime rate. Five, our economy in monolithic on Crude oil sales to International market which already is saturate with many crude oil yet not purchase and still on high sea awaiting buyers, Nigeria lets see beyond ethnicity in this forth coming election and embraced what our future generation will survive on not what we as individual stands to benefit now.
Can their vote count? and meanwhile not old cargos are going to vote this time around it is mainly youths who know the importancy of progress and standard living and since all these years our votes are not count but now it will and must count.
