Thats right PDP, APC…All the same people. So whats the point? Parties do not stand for anything in Nigeria. People decamp because of selfish reasons not because they have the interest of the country at heart. Because you dont get a ticket in PDP, you decamp to APC..

I strongly advice Nigerians to keep praying

    • Author’s gravatar

Pray for what!!! Just get the job done

      • Author’s gravatar

Well said child of Nigeria. Prayers do nothing, only human effort achieve anything. When have you ever prayed for anything and got what you prayed for. Get off you butt and work for what you want, economically, socially and morally.

        • Author’s gravatar

Was your being alive today through your effort? It is the prayers of your father and mother that God answered and decided to keep you alive. If not you would have been washed off as menstration or rather still birth. Reason my friend. Open your brain, your eyes and ears. God gave all that to reflect. Use them intelligently!!!

          • Author’s gravatar

You Pray and work hard. Na only wayo (criminal) Nigerians that use prayers as a means of deceit whilst they loot and rape the treasury.

          • Author’s gravatar

Yes, if really want to know. It is through the efforts of my late parents and my own care to avoid putting myself in harms way that meant that I am alive to help others and myself in the best way I see, and able to, from my late parent’s biology and the grace of my fellow Nigerians and teachers at home and here in the UK. Nothing at all to do with any prayers even as I am a token Christian in that I would accept the order to do onto others as I would they did for me. I also love my gods (my late parents) with all my soul.as my soul is a hybrid of my parents. Wah doh!

No matter our belief system about life, truth is truth no matter how u try to turn.
I appreciate the philosophy of hard work but I have come to realise that fulfilment in life is not and can not be determined by hard work.
I will refer you to this verse of the Bible(Ecc.9:11).
The biggest risk to take in life is to rule out the place of the Almighty God in our lives.
No matter how hard we work,it is God who rules in the affairs of men
If hard work is all that matters, we will not have Phd holders serving School Cert holders,it is unbelievable but it is real..
Hardwork without God is mere labour but hard work with God is what becomes favour.
A word is enough for the wise.

          • Author’s gravatar

The guy can by no means mislead people with sound believe, only shallow minded people like him can be misled. No “religion” can succeed without acknowledging the Almighty God, the all sufficient God, the Holy one of Israel, Unchangeable Changer, the One the makes His own to walk on dry land in Sea and yet buried the contenders of His own in the same. See, no man can help God, so if ojiv thinks he’s able, then he should be ready to bring himself out of lion’s den and the burning flame of life.

          • Author’s gravatar

PDP is winning with 19750 votes so far,pls calculate.

        • Author’s gravatar

If hard-work brings everything, then I will be right to say you must be very hardworking, and from your post, you have as a result of your hard-work, acquired everything and lack nothing. But I would’t say that because, the little I know about life has taught me that, yes, it is very good to work hard, but there is this “Mighty Being” that determines how far this “hard-work” can go or the amount of fruit the hard-work can yield. I have also come to realize that it is important to seek His kind assistance so that this hard-work can yield the required fruits. I also know that the only way we can seek His assistance is through prayer. I also know that the name of this “Mighty Being” is God.

I am not preaching because I am not a preacher, but the little I know about life tells me that if humans think we are in control of everything and can profer solutions to situations and lockout God always, it is self deceit; because 2+2 may not always be 4.

          • Author’s gravatar

OK, child. Who gave your mighty being that name? Are you satisfied that that mighty being only hears your prayers? Are you satisfied about a mighty being is being peddled as a mortal threat to all who don’t accept and would not yield to spiritual bullying into accepting a completely foreign concept? We fought wars to free ourselves from domination foreigners whose only interest is how to dupe us into handing over anything and everything valuable. These foreigners left us with THEIR religion which they have all by-and-large abandoned as they long-later realise the falsehood that also made for their duping and deceit. Here in the UK, I do go to church purely out habit – trust me as I tell you why I go to church when I feel like it. I have no illusions nor delusions that I am going to church to be heard by some mighty being. I am usually there to reflect and release my thoughts from the daily ding-dong of hyperactivities. My real belief is that we are created, each of us, by our parents with all the biological attributes and imperfections which pre=disposes each of to the environmental inputs and personality formations. This process determines how we later react to events and in turn our reactions are then part of the script for others including our children. That is why loving your neighbour is impossible without first loving yourself. The circle is only completed and you whole if you honour and serve your parents. Wah doh!!!!!!!

          • Author’s gravatar

Pure ignorance u are. If I was ur parents, I wouldn’t claim u. Better yet it would have been more fun and exciting if ur mom would have sucked ur dads dick and swallowed u.

          • Author’s gravatar

Is that what they do in heaven? I definitely don’t like the idea of mums sucking babies out of fathers. I am glad I belong here on earth and have no wish whatsoever to go to your heaven as I love my earthly things and real culture with real people. Bye!

          • Author’s gravatar

Thank u so much for saying what u said. It is scary and unbelievable how ppl are turning away from God. Stating to stop praying. God is coming back sooner than we all believe. Prayer is our only open line to Him. He might now answer when we want Him to, but He’s always on time. He hears and sees His ppl suffering. But He never makes mistakes. He knows just how and when He will deliver, rescue and renew. I am American and I have been praying, exposing Nigeria to get a prayer chain going, made videos and placed on Facebook. And I won’t give up doing all I can do to help Nigeria. I’m forever praying with u. This is probably why God said when 2 or 3 are gathered together in my name, He is in the midst. The rest are lost and hell bound..

          • Author’s gravatar

Oh child of Nigeria, count your luck, then get out of you blessed home and out to observe those less fortunate than you are and ask your ‘did you pray better than they most definitely did?’ The return to read what I have written and constructively analyse the implications of what I said. I am genuinely pleased for you that you get comforted by you belief that you actually have line to this god somewhere. Good for you. Now go out and be of help to all those you can. That is what I chose always to do. Whatever your ultimate conclusions and actions that follow, make sure that you all in you power for your fellow – that’s what really matters. Doh!

          • Author’s gravatar

I do all I can for whoever whether it’s a need, a hug, encouraging word and yes prayer. I am not Nigerian but American. And I do sponsor a less fortunate family there. Plus I try by any means I can to get Nigeria exposed praying others will get involved and help. But prayer is the key. The open door to God. Like I said it might seem to some He doesn’t answer or hear our prayers but He does. We start disbelieving because things might not happen now as we want. But He don’t make mistakes and His timing is always right on time. He hears the cries and sees the struggle of His ppl.But He knows when to reveal, deliver and restore. Just keep Praying and believing. But u believe what u will and I believe what I do. That’s the beauty of serving the true and living God. He lets u choose ur own destiny, where u will spend eternity. I just choose heaven and u choose hell…

How shallow. So because you believe in some god you will spend eternity in heaven? I take it that you will not die. You see, I am blissfully happy to die here on earth and return to the earth from whence my late parents raised me. You were probably conjured in a temple so you may return to the imaginary world from which you were conjured. I am blissful in my state of mind and body. You probably don’t have any idea of how that can be and I am sorry I can’t help you as we are not of the same construct. One belongs to the earth and the other belongs to ‘heaven’. I’ll have my earth and you have your heaven. OK?

All prayers and no work have destroyed Nigeria. As intelligent as we are, we are not contributing anything to global technological development. This technology is oyibo made. The tech for communications in your Tabernacle of Synagogues is all oyibo technology. We know so much individually but so uncoordinated collectively. God gave us talents and we bury it waiting for his coming back. He is not coming back. He has other galaxies to take care of. Thank God we now have a new President who will focus our energies on positive things and prosper and less dependent on John Kerry and Obama on what to do. Buhari will not run to go and bow to Obama or Putin. He can stand his ground anywhere. This na the woman angle, I mean angel

      • Author’s gravatar

But Buhari went to UK to renew their colonial mandate a few weeks ago. When he said he went Chatham and disappeared, what do you think he went to do?

Fayose una don start abi well done the lad did not mention Jonathan why you use paracetamol for another man headache

        • Author’s gravatar

Whether Buhari went to UK for treatment or leisure or whatsoever is not the issue with Nigerians. We have resolved and gave our vote to the man who is ready to do the job. Jonathan is cluelessly helpless, in fact the seat is too hot for him to manage, he is presently seeking peaceful exit to Otuoke. The most important thing is how can we help him out? My advice to him is that he should be prepared to hand over all the money he has stolen to Buhari in May 29. Also, it is better for us to remove sentiment from this matter, let us collectively pray out Jonathan, he has brought bad luck to Nigeria as noted by referend father Mbaka (the only man who was bold enough to read and interpret the divine hand writing on the wall without adding his own personal interest)!

      • Author’s gravatar

What have you as an individual done? What have you done with your talents? Or do you not have any? We should stop blaming others. Do something.

      • Author’s gravatar

My dear stop protecting Buhari’s interest. All these politicians are the same. They are all full of words without action. That was how Nigerians voted Goodluck with the hope that things would change for the better but now full of regrets. How sure are u that Buhari is better off than Jonathan? Only GOD can bring about the change that we crave for. Do not put ur confidence in man but in God who is the ruler of the universe.

        • Author’s gravatar

……policians are the same’ Do u then imply that Nigeria is hopeless and we should therefore not vote. We shouldn’t try to make it better? U mean nobody ever will?

Hussain Musa next time you come on this medium l want u graciously to tell us waec or sss results.
You’re one of those destroying Nigeria with prayers. When are you guys going to utilise ur under utilisation brain to do meaningful things for your country economically, technologically, politically. Whenever I happens to read Nigerian news, all I read was we need prayer. Use your knowledge man, not surprising this is the way criminal pastors were abusing u guys intellectually. I don’t really blame average Nigerians, if you a guy like goodluck Jonathan lurking at every churches, bribe them with tax payers money the followers were as stupid as their president

        • Author’s gravatar

Jade, why are you saying prayer is a means of destruction? Have you not heard that man’s wisdom is foolishness before God? What you think is best may not be what God wants. The heart of man is desperately wicked: WHO CAN TELL? We need prayers whether you like it or not. We need to pray for God’s direction in choosing a leader who will not lead us astray. We need prayer pls. But if u think you want to help God, then you re out for destruction!!!

I am right to believe u might be on several level of some of the delapidated, ill equipped toothless universities! I think u need to reexamine ur knowledge based. I will advise u face reality rather than spiritual. The smartphone in ur hands was not manufactured by prayers but brain work, the TV set u watch Nigerian got talent was a brainwork, those applicants on Nigerian got talents was reality through distinct hard work not spiritual. The cars ur parents were driving was brain work conbined with intellectual research and development. Coming down home to elections. Eligible people vying for elective position needs to convinced electorates through manefesto what they can achieve to uplift all downpeople of nigeria. Prayer less you will achieve more in your life. But when Kano came out with 1.9m for Buhari you found it ok?
        Crap!

        • Author’s gravatar

But you can’t compare population of Kano State with that of Rivers State. I expected more than 3M registered voters in Kano. From Wikipedia, Kano’s population estimate @ 2006 was 9,383,682 while that of Rivers State was 5,185,400. This is over 4M margin. I think the figure is fair enough. Wondering why people frown at Rivers State vote figure, although when you consider Amaechi’s apologists and supporters in Rivers State, one may be tempted to contest the figure.

          • Author’s gravatar

Absolute rubbish. Who did the counting in Kano? Have you lived anywhere in the north before? If you really believe that more than 9 million people live in Kano then you are not only a foolish man, but an idiot too.

You have to win the popular vote in addition to attaining 25% of the voted cast in 2/3 majority of all the states. And it doesn’t look like your hero, Buhari is anywhere near that, so your desires may be on hold for longer than you hoping.

          • Author’s gravatar

you should learn how to add…..I don’t have desires..I have facts staring at me….

          • Author’s gravatar

The results are being announced and I haven’t seen anything that tells me your hero is going to win. May be you have facts that exist in alternative universe, because the one staring right at my face tells me something entirely different. Just understand the laws and you will know where you stand and where you are going.

          • Author’s gravatar

what law….??? you need your reading glasses….there is nothing confusing with what INEC is reading to us….Buhari had landslide in North..GEJ had landslide in SS and SE….SW will determine the outcome…and Buhari had more votes in landslide in the North….He will have 25%… 2/3 in SW and North…again..you need your reading glasses and ability to add figure together…..also…count how many states in the North and SW….are they up to 2/3….??????

          • Author’s gravatar

I assume you have all the results already otherwise you wouldn’t have your hopes and dreams so high. I have added all the results that have so far been announced together, and made my calculations which assures me that I have nothing to worry about. When they (INEC) come back again tomorrow, I will continue FROM where I stopped. Do you have your own numbers? Don’t tell me you got your numbers online and believe those are real. Whatever you know that I do not know will surely be known tomorrow or in the next coming days. I deal with reality, not with fantasy, so keep believing that your landslide and we will see how it turns out.

          • Author’s gravatar

I guess your addition makes me right …for now…..that you people are losing….I got my numbers from INEC and the additions of those numbers shows to me that Buhari is going to win…..Jega will be back 10 am tommorrow and I will also continue from where I stopped….let me ask you a question…..you Igbos are so bitter…WHY….what will you do if Buhari actually wins this thing….move out of Nigeria? or if you outside Nigeria you will never go back….???.How on earth people like you did not see that GEJ failed is beyond my reasoning….I am not in Nigeria presently and my best friend who is an Igbo guy is here with me now…did you know what he told me about the results from the SE? He said…he wondered who voted for Jonathan over there….he is not letting hatred, religion, tribal bigotry…..prevented him from knowing that Jonathan failed Nigerians….best wishes to you Sir…..

          • Author’s gravatar

You are quite amusing! Let me ask you this since you have no sense of history. When in Nigeria’s history has any Yoruba man voted for any Igbo man on anything? When in Nigeria’s history has any Hausa man voted for any Igbo man on anything? May be I should educate you since you have no idea. If indeed you are with an Igbo man and he is asking you such question, tell him that he is a disgrace to his race and humanity. Let me also ask you this. What has mr Buhari ever done for Nigeria? What has he ever accomplished for his country Nigeria? What are the failures of Jonathan that you are harping about? If you are truly outside Nigeria, then I am highly disappointed with your level of intellect. I travel to Nigeria very often and I understand the happenings there, what Jonathan is doing and how much he has achieved since he came to office. Ask yourself this question. Those who were there before him, what were their achievements? Do you understand how an economy is run? Do you know the challenges that come with rebuilding a damaged economy? It’s because you have not enlightened yourself on issues that matter that you are still dancing with fools. Buhari is a very weak man who has nothing to offer anyone in Nigeria. A former dictator who was never qualified to even hold the rank of a major, much more a general. Without mr Tunde Idiagbon, mr Buhari would have been a functionless, toothless dictator. Guy, know your history and learn things you have no idea of, that way you can make a difference in your life and those around you.

          • Author’s gravatar

I think you are the ignorant one sir…..what history are you talking about….I wonder how old you are because you sounded like a kid whose biscuit was stolen…..when the Igbos are ready to join the rest of Nigerians, maybe the Yorubas will support a better candidate from the SE…..the problem with you people is that you cried too much over spilled milk….the only interest you people have is secession from the republic of NIgeria…How can you ask the Yorubas to support you when the first thing your arrogant mouth will say is I AM BETTER THAN YOU..we are not fools…..Now..to my good friend….he is 100 men more than what you will ever be….he is from Enugu and I told him already that if he wants to become president I will vote for him….you people need somebody with a bipartisan mind like that to represent your interest in Nigeria…..As for you sir…YOU ARE AN ID IOT……

          • Author’s gravatar

I think you are a fool. The Igbos have contributed more to develop Nigeria than any other ethnic society in Nigeria and it’s only a blind person like you that would fail to see it. You have no idea who I am and I will not bother myself letting you know. I do not know your friend, and I have no interest in doing so, but it’s important you know that I am up to the task on anything. You sound to me like someone in Europe who couldn’t find his way on anything, I would hope things turn out well for you. My advice is that you should touch base with Nigeria often to learn what is going on there and may be build yourself a life if you can afford it. Uneducated fools like you wouldn’t understand why someone like Buhari should not aspire to rule a country like Nigeria, but I will leave you to rot in your believe. It suits you best.

          • Author’s gravatar

Again..the arrogant mouth…who the feck are you..I do not care…you are unculture it makes me ashamed of you….and what have you people done for Nigeria..let me remind you of one…BIAFRA WAR….is that the contribution you are talking about….you people are so full of yourselves, hence the reason Yorubas will, for now, let you continue decieving yourself…..all your assumptions about me only showed how ignorant you are…so i will not tell you where i reside….if you are up to task for anything.. that is your problem.you do not need to boast to me, you arrogant fu ck….until the Igbos learm humility you people will not provide a president in Nigeria….try to teach yourself BIPARTISAN POLITICS….work very well with the oppositions and other tribes….but with people like you I am afraid your race is finished…..you are an id iot sir…

          • Author’s gravatar

You are not only a fool, but also very childish. Nigeria functions today because the Igbos contribute a lot to move it forward. If that sound boasting to you then so be it. Facts can not be hidden because a fool demands that it should. You may reside in any country you like and I hope it works out for you. I will say it to you again, I am up to the task on anything and I thank God Almighty for it. You do not know me and for that reason, I will not fault you for your childish comments. You can not teach anyone what you are unable or incapable of practicing. I do not have to let you know how fickle minded you are and equally your people, but time will teach you all a better lesson. Once again, I hope you achieve success wherever you are, so you can reach Nigeria often and learn new things about the country. This is very important because you seem highly uninformed. One more thing, democracy is a free choice and anyone or any society should be willing to exercise their preference without any fear or intimidation. It’s one thing your fickle mind should learn to comprehend.

          • Author’s gravatar

I did not bother to read your epistle…PLEASE STOP WRITING ME SIR…

          • Author’s gravatar

Good. Enjoy your and do not fail to touch base with Nigeria often as I have advised. You do need it.

          • Author’s gravatar

you seem like a nice guy…okay..you can write me sir…

          • Author’s gravatar

Sir, I think u don’t know the difference between IBO and SOUTH SOUTH. In d commodity market, Ibo made means FAKE. Much of our oil is however from the SOUTH SOUTH.

          • Author’s gravatar

Just do not bother about what I know. Just enrol yourself in any school near you if indeed you are in the US, it will do you a lot of good.

          • Author’s gravatar

Why are you Igbos always selfish,i wonder which school you went to, because you can not differentiate between Igbos and Niger Delta in clear term, you guys are always very proud and arrogant. We are talking about national development but you are talking about ethnic sentiment…You claim that are living a good life and comfortable but is everybody living fine like you do? let forget about tribe or ethnic sentiment and let us moved this country forward for the sake of our future generation..God has bless this country with abundant resource but we keep having ruler and not leaders,God blessed Nigeria!!!

          • Author’s gravatar

It seems you are incapable of reading and understanding simple explanation of issues. And you call yourself an open minded person. I won’t waste my time answering your childish comments. Go on!

          • Author’s gravatar

Because we are talking about national development and some of you are talking about ethnic or tribal issues, our country is been blessed with abundant resource but yet many Nigeria lives in 100% poverty, our current president claimed that Nigeria is the best economy in Africa but there are millions of Nigerian jobless,he claimed to have produce agricultural revolution but yet many Nigerians can not afford to eat comfortably 2 times a day, many Nigerians are been killed everyday in the north, no constant electricity despite the high cost..so what are we benefiting as a Nigeria but they (Igbos…still don’t see anything wrong in Nigeria system for a change to emerge…whether you like it or not, change is already here so you can live this country and go elsewhere.. you selfish, self centered set of people..

          • Author’s gravatar

United States of America has the biggest economy in the world, but still many Americans could barely make ends meet. China has the second biggest economy in the world, still millions of Chinese wallow themselves in poverty. Nigeria’s economy underwent several decades of damage from those you call your heros and brothers, and you expect mr Jonathan to fix all that in 6 years of leadership? This is the reason why I do not bother responding to people like you here or on any social media forum. You accuse other people of ethnic, religious, and tribal behavior, but yet everything about you stinks worse than that. May be you should be looking at yourself in a mirror. I will not bother responding any further to your comments, because you have little or no knowledge of the issues you are dabbling into. Stay strong.

          • Author’s gravatar

Mr Combymax…yes poor people live in US but not as many as poor people in Nigeria…and the US government also helps them through food stamps, unemployment benefits, education grants, free health care etc….if Jonathan can do that I will give him my blood…..6 years is enough to help the very poor in our society….poverty is the main problem in Nigeria..if we can reduce poverty….thing will improve in Nigeria…crimes will reduce….and the government officials might steal less….

          • Author’s gravatar

There is no free healthcare in America neither any free education. You may obtain grants or loan to pursue your educational interests, but you must pay it pack to the government. To obtain a food stamp, you must declare your entire life to the government otherwise you will not qualify for such. My point is that no one country has it all and no one country is perfect in its bureaucratic functions. It took America hundreds of years to get to where they are today and it has not been as straightforward as many might think. In any case, however, no one is suggesting that it should take that much to fix Nigeria’s ills, but it is important we recognise ones achievements and commend them for their efforts. Corruption and nepotism is entrenched in our system of governance and we have to understand that it is not a thing we can get rid of overnight. There are a whole lot of eceonomic improvement/repair that the Jonathan administration has undertaking in the past few years that should start bearing fruit in the next couple of years, but unless you have an open mind, you will be unable to see that. You can not just be fixated on the present and forget the past and the works done in the past and the present that will make life a bit more manageable in the future. I believe that if we as individuals and citizens of Nigeria could hold ourselves half accountable as much as we blame our government, things will get much better faster than you or I could imagine.

          • Author’s gravatar

well.. there is OBAMA Care…and basic education is 100% free in US…Primary and Secondary…..I attended college here with just grants as I refused loans…so..that is free….I practice Disability law here and that makes me to come across poor people everyday….If any government could help the poor the same way America helps her poor…believe me I will sell my blood to campaign for the government or party……GEJ shot himself in the foot when he decided to ignore what people realy need…..JOBS…for one… would have given him chances for re-election….

          • Author’s gravatar

Obamacare or The affordable Care Act, which is a law and not really a health-care insurance do not provide free health-care benefits. Although, it may be partly subsidized for those who qualify for subsidy, however you are still left to shoulder most of the cost of obtaining a health-care need. When you obtain only grants which is usually not enough (unless you also have scholarship grants) for your educational pursuit, you must work more than hard to make up the difference. Elementary and high school education may be free in some states, but not in all the states. There are good things about America and there equally bad things, I mean very bad things about it too. The bottom line is that it took America years to develop its economy and get to where it is today, so it will take Nigeria many more year to fix its economy to the level that it becomes beneficial for the majority of the population. There are no quick fixes to economic development. China started building its economy since the 1970’s and it only started paying off in the last couple of years, still the majority of its population lives in abject poverty. Jonathan is not the best man to lead Nigeria and if I have a choice, I will not choose him for the job, but he is the best amongst the two. We have to be very objective to ourselves on issues and things that shape our future. There is no one perfect person out there and we should always put that at the back of our minds.

          • Author’s gravatar

Dude you are Clearly misinformed, i really dont care about all the Gibber you all have bn spitting at each other since yesterday but as a naturalized American, am using the Affordable Care Act to get health insurance and you should be talking about all that on this blog like you know.

          • Author’s gravatar

Do you honestly believe that I do not know anything about the Affordable Care Act? You just put a smile on my face. I hope you do not really believe your comments.

          • Author’s gravatar

And stop comparing the States to Nigeria…..That Distabilized Country needs to be fixed but if the current leader isn’t getting things done i don’t see why he should remain the leader. i can see you taking sides which is okay but to make a point you dont have to insult

          • Author’s gravatar

Google the term “comparison” so that you will understand when one is comparing 2 things. I will not respond to your comments unless you understand the terms you use in your conversation and how it relates to anything. Stay strong.

          • Author’s gravatar

you alleged that GEJ is the best..How…after six years of nothing to show for it really I think you are wrong….yes, I also got some scholarship funds from my State and school, and I also worked part time or sometimes full time, during summer….the reason was that I was scared of loan….don’t you think our government should ractice something like that…helping Nigerians to have a college education by providing financial helps in the form of loans…? Obama care is free, depending on how you look at it…if you make low income you will end up paying nothing…I know this because Ihave processed it for people….don’t you think GEJ should have done something like that is 6 years….? you may think he is more qualify than Buhari but at this stage I will try another person…..You have a sound mind, if you are not in Nigeria presently.. I suggest you go back home and contest for something in 4 years.. you might change some minds……don’t waste your mind on GEJ pls

          • Author’s gravatar

You do not practice any law. It is more like, that disability lawyers come across a lazy hobo like you deceiving yourself that self imposed laziness and stupidity is a disability.

Poverty cannot be reduced from you, because you are

intricately cursed with poverty from which you

cannot be delivered ; but this is a fact which your

low-breed brain wouldn’t unravel in a lifetime, so I am telling you free of

charge. I have no interest in causing you any emotional pain, but truth has

that peculiar quality of inflicting such pain especially when it is necessary

to be told a low-breed like you. So,as I was saying, you are cursed with

poverty from which you cannot escape, and you have been so cursed for 40 years

of YOUR inept ruler ship. The seriousness of this curse is such that, at the

very moment President Jonathan is about to deliver you from poverty, the curse

compelled you to abort this move with YOUR very OWN hands. Low-breed, your

            suffering continues.

          • Author’s gravatar

No need telling us that you depend on food stamps. A hobo like you cursed with poverty should depend on food stamps. Lazy genes like you.

          • Author’s gravatar

I don’t know which country that COMBIMAX is, but I’m in the US, and here, people who sell things in stores (sales boys and girls, men and women too tho) ride in good cars, pay for single room accommodation where you share toilet and bath with two other flat mates ($500 = #100, 000) monthly. A store sales attendant earns at least $180 daily, and food is so cheap. If you’re working and your wage is low, government pays you or gives you food stamp. You can buy a car every month if you wish.

          • Author’s gravatar

I also live in US, and that is exactly what I have been trying to let Nigerians understand is what you narrated above…a country should be able to give her citizens what you mentioned….

          • Author’s gravatar

Jonathan may not be the best leader for Nigeria….but Buhari does not even come close. But since we have to choose between ‘two evils’, I will rather give my consent to one who is already there and has been achieving something (no matter how small) to ensure continuity, than let another man come in and waste the first two years of his tenure ‘settling’ in. Jonathan is not an Ibo man, but I voted for him. If a serious candidate comes from either the north or the west, I will have no issues voting for him. By the way, what we need are young, vibrant leaders who are in touch with how fast our world is changing, and not old men that should be in their retirement homes.

          • Author’s gravatar

KUDOS bro, this is the best comment I’ve seen in this thread in a long time! None of those two deserves the seat! Its a pity we have four more years to continue under either of them!

          • Author’s gravatar

I will rather try another person than leave a supernumerary stooge to continue in power for another 4 years. GEJdoes not know what it means to be a commander in Chief. He has failed the nation and would have resigned in an ideal society.

          • Author’s gravatar

I agree with you, but I still believe that neither of them deserves the seat of power.

          • Author’s gravatar

            You sir are very sensible.

          • Author’s gravatar

I think BIAFRA WAR was an evil of Hausa and Yoruba impressively trying to annihilate the Ibos. Even I stil feel bad about that wickedness done to them. Painful to remember.

          • Author’s gravatar

this is the twisted history told to the Igbos, hence the reason you guys hate Yorubas so much….COLONEL OJUKWU…may he rest in peace…caused the BIAFRA WAR….please google ABURI ACCORD….he was a smart young man then but he was hot tempered and stubborn…..he announced secession fom Nigeria when he was not really prepared to do so….I think the Igbos should have held him responsible for the killings of the sons during the civil war…..

          • Author’s gravatar

You are partially correct but the cause of the war was mostly beyond the Ojukwu’s ego and temper. It went right through the Nigerian military leaders at the time. Young egotistic young men that had no advisers or wouldn’t listen to better advice – except the manipulations of foreign interests. That’s why I respect OBJ so much. He refused to be drawn into war with Cameroun when he saw through the antics of some foreign powers. Please do not also rule out the envy and hatred directed against the Igbo by tribal politicians of the time because of what they had achieved as a group at the time. But for now, please, let Nigeria move on.

          • Author’s gravatar

What is the duty of the law enforcement agency, is it to implement the law or to intimidate people, it is their to arrest the under age voters, rather if you have physical evidence prove it.

          • Author’s gravatar

If a group tries to secede from a nation, which they have every right to, i don’t think giving them the choice of staying or dying was fair. Genocide sir.

          • Author’s gravatar

yes..they might have right to secession but that is not in the Nigerian constitution…do you think Texas can tell US I’m leaving….? the point is that secession is not right for a nation…it creates division..on the other hand…the Igbos can work together with other tribes if any member of their tribe is interested in the presidency….for example…in the state of MD, we elected a Republican to the office of Governor despite the fact that it is a Democrat state….Democrats have no viable candidate…..the Republican worked with other Dem to elect a Republican who is viable….a nation can only be divided through violence and I do not want that for Nigeria……

          • Author’s gravatar

Annihilate the Ibos? What does Ogbunige do? When the war was on, the Igbo troups were advancing to the west while everything started in the north. Their warped plan was to the west, their intent was to destroy Lagos. They fired the first salvo and started the selective killings; killings at the highest echelon of political organization exclusively, sparing their oown kins. The reason for the has not been explaine to this day. But odes it matter? Not anymore except for them continueing to remind themsleves, and sometimes us, of what they did, what they still are doing, and what they plan to do. But history repeats itsel …how many times, before the people become something else?

          • Author’s gravatar

          • Author’s gravatar

I am sorry…..sometimes we are carried away because of our passion for politics and tribal hatred….so we become less civil towards people who shared diferent views from ours….do nor try to read the minds of people….if a discussion becomes less civil pls excuse yourself Sir….

The meaning of IBO is “I Before Other”. They are too selfish like the meaning of their name.

          • Author’s gravatar

If u can ask questions to mock Buhari’s achievement within 2 ,years 1983 to 1985…… Buhari met a high level of corruption which only Jonathan’s administration has managed to excel, and he sanitized the system. I know that to a typical IBO man who thinks ORDINARY STEALING IS NOT CORRUPTION, this is not an achievement at all. Is it?

          • Author’s gravatar

You know nothing about Buhari’s 2 year rule, so I will not bother answering your childish utterances.

          • Author’s gravatar

Honestly, sitting behind this computer and watching these people rain insults on the Igbos is pissing me off. For crying out loud, why does everything have to be the Igbos? Corruption: igbos, stealing: igbos, its really childish. One cannot debate politics in Nigeria without focusing on a race. You all seem to believe so much in these politicians forgetting that none of them deserves the seat of power. GEJ has achieved much during his first tenure however corruption has increased too. During his tenure I don’t remember anyone being prosecuted for embezzling money, does that mean that no one embezzled money? Hell NO! Also, the high increase of our economy is directly proportional to high increase of poverty rates. What impact has the big economy made on the low class citizens?
GMB is not any different! You do not vote for one without considering history, during his two years of military rule, what did he achieve apart from discipline in the country? He gagged free press, drifted from human rights? You still need me to mention?
What Nigeria needs is neither GEJ nor GMB, we need a new generation of leaders with vision for the nation and not their pockets!
I hate to interfere, but please discuss politics without abusing tribes, think of Nigeria as a whole before thinking of any tribe!

          • Author’s gravatar

If only we have p[eople with clear ideas and not those buffons on thie forum who daily, nay, minute by minute point dirty ethnic fingers at each other. That is one of the things that ruined Jonathan’s chances. A group, or some group of people just focused not on the goal but on inane things, lying about other groups, denegrating and calling them all manners of unpleasant names without the President calling them to order as if such is the most delightful part of political campaign. When you ask opponents to be stoned, then they get ready for you and stone you also. That is fair play. Jonathan may have done his best, and he deserves credit if he diud all that were ascribed to him: but he had so much faith in verbal assault, and depended heavily on those with the most virile and violent mouths, those who can say the worst about others. Then when it was day-break, they saw his face and he started prostrating for those who for a long time were targets of abusive language.

          • Author’s gravatar

Sometimes, it pays not to stress oneself educating these non teachable Apc supports. Because to them its only do or die affair. When finally these results are collated and it done on them that Buhari has lost, as usual they will take the path of violence- which except if this GEJ administration is lenient, alot of them will take for Boko haram shots meant for them on various streets.

Orubebe is the answer to your example. One damn big man throwing tantrum in the presence of an international community. It tells stories that mouth cannot describe to the world. All that is needed is to remind the international community that Orubebe is the typical example of those people’s behavior – it has to always be us or else…… What a damned behavior form a government representative!

@ Emeka – Do you know that your clueless Jonathan could not fight Boko Haram for the past 2 years necessitating inability to know where 200 girls are up till now. He only deemed it necessary to take a decisive action against Boko Haram after postponement of election 6 weeks ago. If he is active and a succesful head of State, why didn’t he take action since all these days. GEJ is a total failure my friend.

Oga, please remove your rose tinted glasses and behold reality. It is people like you without any sense of history that are responsible for the backwardness of our country. Where were you when the NCNC was almost at par with the AG in the old Western region, they held sway in major towns like Ibadan, Ilesa, Osogbo and even Lagos to mention a few. I don’t blame you going by the fact that the story fed to you had been about how Awo stopped Zik from becoming Premier in the West, how he punished the Ibos during the civil war and other fairy tales. Live with the fact that Buhari has won this election but also ponder on whither the Igbo nation that put her eggs in one basket just because of unnecessary hatred for the Yorubas

          • Author’s gravatar

You lowbreeds alone remain responsible for your backwardness. Forty years of your inept rulership, and you want to pass onto other people, the blame for the resultant backwardness of your inept rulership.

@ Combymax – Don’t be clouded by ethnicity. It is only you Igbo that cannot vote other nationalities because Yorubas voted for Jonathan in year 2011 – Check your record very well. Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti States voted enmass for Jonathan in year 2011. It is only Osun State that did not vote for him. However, Yoruba cannot be fooled twice. Despite voting for him, his performance was nothing to write home about. In the area of security, Jonathan did not perform. There is no electricity in town, There is no petroleum in town. Economy is standstill – Naira is being exchanged for Dollar at N225 : $1. Corruptions is all over the places, there is no employment and there are problems here and there. For your information, Jonathan did not inherit bad economy from Musa Yar’adu but he made the economy to be worst because he surrounds himself with corrupt politicians. Nigerian foreign exchange was depleted by Jonathan. For this election campaign, Jonathan, is just dishing out dollars as bribes to all the Obas, the Obis and the Emirs who ever cares to adopt him as presidential candidate. Likewise the Church Pastors and Mosque Alfas. I have never seen a daft and corrupt President like him. He even funded the militant groups to be formeting troubles in Lagos (OPC) and Enugu (MASSOB). What actually caused Jonathan failure is bad performance. His party has been ruling Nigeria for the past 16 year, alas! such years are wasteful.

As for your question that what Buhari has ever done for Nigeria? I wish to let you know that Buhari has done a lot. In year 1983, Buhari came in as a military head of state to rescue the sinking ship of Nigeria. The situation then was worst than what we are experiencing now – NPN government then completely mismanaged Nigeria economy, election was massively rigged and industries were closing down – hence, the military took over government and everything was corrected before another Junta called Babangida seized power from Buhari. Babangida later legalized corruption in Nigeria.

What endears Buhari to Nigerians is his incorruptible. Buhari is not corrupt like other former Nigeria head of states and the electorates believe the major problem of Nigeria is corruption and anybody who will fight corruption successful will not himself corrupt.

We should see ourselves as Nigerians instead of as Ibo, Hausa or Yoruba. It is only if this happens that Nigeria will be progressive and advance like America, UK and other advanced countries of the world.

            Best regards,,,

Of course, your kind are known to be habitual liars and habitual tribalist; the kind of fellas who point accusing fingers at others concerning the very tribalism which you yourselves introduced into Nigerian politics.

          • Author’s gravatar

The Igbos have voted for an Hausa man and they have also voted for a Yoruba man. May be you should check your record before trying to challenge me or refute any of my claims. We do not discriminate against anyone in our voting preferences. Moreover, we live in a democracy and I do not believe that it’s a crime for people to choose who they like to vote for. In the 1980’s when Buhari overthrew an elected president and took over as then Nigeria’s head of state, the only notable thing they did was to command people like animals and force compliance to their rule down people’s throat. In addition, while they will have you believe they were fighting corruption, their members and friends were busy looting our treasury. Check your records well and you will find out the truth. There were zero improvement in Nigeria’s economy while they were in power. They may have gathered few of their detractors and put them in jail, but they had no plans for the economy, electricity problems were never addressed, roads were worse than they are today, no good drinking water anywhere, our educational system was in shambles, and almost everything was at a stand still. In all these, the junta was only interested in whipping people to line in public, believing that’s how to govern a country. I do not seek to live in an alternate universe like most of you do, so if there is anyone that is clouded by anything, that isn’t me. I have no interest in preaching anything to anyone in public. I will live that to people like you who choose to project messianic attitude in public to impress others. It’s clear to me that if you do not like the Igbo people because they are more successful than your people, you will still not like them no matter what I tell you. I am praying that things get better in Nigeria, but I believe that the wrong man has been elected into power, and in the next 4 years, when you come back here in lamentation, I will remind you my words. Stay strong.

How many times did Ibos vote for their own Ibo Presidential Candidate. Ojukwu contested I think twice in 2003 and probably 2007, how many Ibos voted for Him? many Ibos have been contesting ever since this political dispensation, how many times did they get votes from the east? The Ibos have consistently failed to produce credible candidates.
let the truth be told, Northern Muslims are mostly wild animals, but among them, we found a man that can be trusted.
Ibos are sane, sage and progressive people, point out one of them that you can trust with your money and go to sleep. Rochas Okorocha is the only man I can cast my vote for, but How many Ibos will actually vote for him?

Sentiments and partisanship aside, which head of state have performed better than Jonathan? This guy created 14 new universities and gave 12 of those to the North. Obasanjo was busy creating private universities in his own state. This guy built over 2000 almajiri schools when he realised that the future of the North was being systematically destroyed because nobody was interested in sending the kids to proper western style schools. He backed Northern state governments to borrow loans to build infrastructures like airport, roads e.t.c. The combination of Abacha, Babangida, Buhari, Abdulsalami and Shagari did not do as much even though they had a fiat to do as they like. This man stood by the north and really wanted to bring the north to par with the south. How have they bitten the hands that fed them? GEJ also gave senior ministerial and ambassadorial posts to Northerners. He was ever there for them. Now see the way they have treated him. A lot of lessons are being learned from this whole process. The voters in the north are not rational. They follow when one person say lets go. If GEJ have spent all that effort investing his political fortunes in the South West, He would have won this election hands down. He could have spent a big part of that resources in the South West and get their vote. It doesn’t matter what you do for the Hausa Fulani, If you are not one of them, You can’t be one of them. Learn your lessons today.

all what you mentioned just proved to me that GEJ is an incompetent president….he needed to identify what Nigerians NEED as a whole and provide but he failed….everytime you guys will come up with he built university…seriously? Nigerians need cure against poverty..good economy that will improve the lives of the citizens you are talking about he built universities? Also..security and safety of Nigerian should have been important also to him..yet he failed to give Nigerians safety…..GEJ does not deserve re-election…..

When a human being tries to develop the environment of the chimp, the chimp chases the human being away, simply because, the spiritual decree against the chimp and the chimp’s nature, are geared towards the chimp remaining backward and undeveloped.

Education is the only means to end corruption, and such education is building a people with a mindset, so who sees education as not doing enough for a particular people or nation is against the future. If Goodluck, builds universities, do you expect him to run the institutions??? (that’s where the Operators both at state and local levels should be held responsible).

GEJ tried but he failed the westerners who voted him in in 2011..So stop saying the Yoruba have not in any way supported the igbos.. In a nutshell, GEJ’s regime is full of corruption, insecurity, favouritism to mention a few..Let’s stop being sentimental about the whole thing and face the reality

GEJ didn’t fight CORRUPTION. That is all that’s needed to fail. 14 new universities! Nigeria doesn’t have any university; check world university rankings for better understanding. GEJ kept overlooking d the corrupt practices of the godfathers and Cabal politicians as if the poor people’s votes are irrelevant.

With votes tallied in 34 out of 36 states of Nigeria, following the weekend election, Buhari has won 14,772,454 votes to the 11,616,149 votes won by the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan.

Only few state results, one of them from Jonathan’s South South base of Delta state remain to be tallied, but analysts do not foresee Jonathan’s scores of 1.2million votes to change Buhari’s victory.

          • Author’s gravatar

Goodluck has called to congratulate Buhari. Are you worried now?

          • Author’s gravatar

please u dont know simple maths
we are telling you the number 1 he must win 2/3 of the 36 state, plus FCT making 25 state
now he has loss FCT and now he is only leading in 10state as well as GET is leading in 10 state, out of the 20state announced tell me wat is the probability of GMB winning 14more state out of 17state left and if he wins these 14more state how can he win FCT which as already been announced please think well before u reply

          • Author’s gravatar

I wish I understood what you said…Buhari already had more than 25% in 20 states….I think he will achieve the requirements necessary for election….

          • Author’s gravatar

The winner must have 25% in at least 24 states plus FCT. If both candidates reach that threshold, then the tie-breaker would be the higher number of votes. There really is no need for argument; just do the math. Will Buhari have 25% of votes cast in 24 states plus FCT and record a higher number of total votes cast? If your answer is yes, then you can hand him the victory.

          • Author’s gravatar

I understand all that, but the young man or the young lady, whichever he/she happens to be, seem to see things differently. He believes the results would be different from what INEC have been announcing. I assume he has his own results. He should let us know.

          • Author’s gravatar

good you are right, buahri is going nowhere is either u loss compeletly or we go for re run

          • Author’s gravatar

Doubting Thomas – Buhari the hero has already won…

          • Author’s gravatar

Just keep your head low. In 4 years time, you will come back here in lamentation. Good, I do not live in Nigeria, so I won’t be witnessing the suffering as you would. The economy is likely to slide back into what it has always been. I hope you will be willing to accept your mistakes then.

          • Author’s gravatar

What are you now going to do because i can now see clearly that you are an idiot just like those guy called you but to add to it, you are even mad….So, are you selfish IGBOS going to leave this country or what??i can start to imagine how you will be feeling right now….So go and help your fellow brother to pack all his rubbish back to his home town….You have always failed because you IGBOS think Nigeria is yours alone…Face the reality now because the majority have made the decision.. SAI BUHARI

          • Author’s gravatar

I am going to be living my life as I have always. The Igbos are the most successful people in Nigeria. I know many of you do not like that, but I care less. I supported the best man for the job and I have no regrets for doing so. It is people like you that I pity. In 4 years time, if shame will allow you, you will come back here in lamentation. By then, it’s already far, far too late. I have all that I need in my life and I live a very happy life where I am, so you can be rest assured that I have no issue with anything. Just do not let the door hit as you find your way out. Stay strong.

          • Author’s gravatar

You Igbos are always selfish….you claimed that you have every thing you needed in your life but does every single person in your family live comfortable as you do??not to even talk of your village because am sure that is where you come from….despite the fact that you have ministers of Niger -delta, NDDC and so many other programs, yet you people still lives in poverty.. you are all selfish, thief’s that the entire world is not enough for you….let see where it leads you…

          • Author’s gravatar

I am not sure why you are angry. But, I think you should keep your head low. You stand to benefit nothing from this election and I think you should find ways to better your life rather than sitting around, throwing stones at the Igbo people. I did not ask God to create your people less intelligent and smart to my people. My family live a good decent life and we have little to complain about. My prayer is that things would get better for everyone, but I do not really think that is going to be the case. You people have made your choice and I would urge you to be able to live and be happy with whatever consequences that may come with such choice.

          • Author’s gravatar

I will never say Ibos are stupid and irrelevant; I will be stupid to say so. But you sir do always sound very stupid and bias and unsuprisingly iignorant.

          • Author’s gravatar

So you don’t even live in Nigeria! No wonder you really sounded ignorant of the plights of Nigerians

          • Author’s gravatar

Combymax, if you have access to the internet as it should be in this modern age, you will not be living in self-illusion. The results are known. Check THisDay owned by a Deltan – the paper already congratu;ated Buhari, and advised Jonathan to concede victory because the final margin with which Jonathan was defeated is about 2.72 million votes. By popular votes, mandatory requirement and others, Buhari is the winner. However, Jonathan can still plan other routes but definitely not through this election which he has lost.

          • Author’s gravatar

I have no problems with the outcome of the elections. I supported the best person for the job and I have no regrets. In 4 years, when you look back, you will realize why you should have done the right thing. You will never see what I am looking at, and no matter how you try, you can not reach my height. I pity people like you who live in Nigeria and whose live will have zero improvement when all that Jonathan have been trying to fix, crumbles back down.

          • Author’s gravatar

i hope u have now seen! Congratulations any way. With Buhari, even you have got a better future.

          • Author’s gravatar

            Mr. Moses Falola,
I think the verbiage you are looking for is “The president
Elect”, president elect is primarily by projection of votes, next is the collation
of votes and finally by announcement. After swearing in he will be President of
Nigeria or Federal republic of Nigeria.

      • Author’s gravatar

From the result pattern so far,it seems both candidates will each win 25% in 2/3 of total number of states
The decider is gonna be the total votes cast
It’s gonna go to the wire

      • Author’s gravatar

Ignorance is a very bad disease

      • Author’s gravatar

Please sir, you need more education. There are 2 conditions to be met. 1 25 % in 24 states and 2 popular votes. Winner must meet condition 1 and have highest number of popular votes.

        • Author’s gravatar

          You are not competely right
A candidate with 25% in 24 states can still win without having the highest numer of popular votes

          • Author’s gravatar

dont be fooled if the candidate meet the 2/3 of the 24vstate and dont not have high number of vote then their shall be rerun of election between the two parties. pls let us say wat we know and sure off

          • Author’s gravatar

You are right. And if someone has the highest votes and does not meet the requirement of 24 states, there will still be a re-run

          • Author’s gravatar

            how??????????????????/

          • Author’s gravatar

By popular vote, please, what exactly do you mean?

          • Author’s gravatar

A candidate that scores 25% in 2/3 of the total number of states eg 24 states in the case of Nigeria will still win even if another candidate has more votes but fails to meet the 25% requirement in 2/3 of the total number of stares
Example :George Bush jr scored less number of votes yet he won for meeting the 2/3 geographical spread requirements while the other candidate with more votes did not

In US are they using the Nigeria constitution? No, even if
Nigerian used the US Constitution as a reference does not mean we are copying
it verbatim. References Nigerian constitution to the letter in this forum to
justified your position. You as any Nigerian have the right and means to change
it, if you honestly feel the change is the best for the majority as well as the
            minority.

I went to the book after my message. You are right

          • Author’s gravatar

@ Sunday322 – Can you please expantiate more on your statement “… can still win without having the highest number of popular votes”…

          • Author’s gravatar

In a standard presidential system,if one candidate gets 25% in 2/3 of the number of states;eg in Nigeria 24 states
If another candidate fails to secure 25% in 2/3 of the number of states, but scores more votes in total, the candidate with 25% in 2/3 of the number states but with less number of votes wins
The geographical spread of votes scored counts more in the main
George Bush jr of the US scored less number of votes and still won because he was able to meet the geographical spread requirement

          • Author’s gravatar

@ Sunday 322 – Thank for your education.

I think Buhari will meet the two conditions in this result.

If you are in doubt, you can google “winning the presidential election”and see what I mean
You need to always focus on the main topic instead of making unnecassy projections

        • Author’s gravatar

Thank you for correcting my topological error. Keep it up Remi

      • Author’s gravatar

Caleb, calculation is based on 25% in 2/3 states AND total highest vote. Both candidates have achieved the first requirement. Popular vote will determine the winner.

      • Author’s gravatar

I beg the winner is by highest number of votes and must have 25% votes in 2/3 of local government .

        • Author’s gravatar

you really got the point. I congratulate you in this forum because the spreading of the 25%; technically and those ‘coluee’ that are verse in statistic knows the 25% winning popularity is the whole local government area base not states. However lets give INEC the onus to declare the winner.

      • Author’s gravatar

why are you changing Nigerian electoral law….highest votes and 25% of 2/3….

        • Author’s gravatar

Are you sure as an individual to change electoral law?

          • Author’s gravatar

mis information can change laws because so many Nigerians do not know thelaw anyway…this might lead to violence because they will think they were cheated….

          • Author’s gravatar

And that is why INEC is the referee…

          • Author’s gravatar

            you are right Sir….

      • Author’s gravatar

thanks for the explaination-its really sad that some of these people get carried away easily——–

      • Author’s gravatar

My brother Maaji Caleb Zonkwa, everybody has the declared results from all states because we now live in the internet age. Information flows freely. The INEC is just doing a routine assignment because even Jonathan has the results. Buhari has been projected as done in other climes as the winner by virtue of results from the states. He has beaten Jonathan with about 2.7million votes in popular votes, and did better than him winning 25% in more states than Jonathan.

        • Author’s gravatar

How sure are you about what you just posted?

          • Author’s gravatar

He is very sure. Results have been collated by all the party agents. INEC is just announcing the results formally.

          • Author’s gravatar

I have all the states and also from ward to ward as collated. What the INEC is doing is just a routine. ThisDay newspapers just some hours ago advised Jonathan to concede, and have (ThisDay) gone ahead to congratulate Buhari asking him to be humble in victory. The remaining states in the north voted heavily for Buhari

        • Author’s gravatar

The constituted authority and the Nigeria constitution only recognise INEC as the referee with the the trumpet.

      • Author’s gravatar

@ Ma’aji Caleb Zonkwa – You are wrong sir. The winner is based on simple majority. Having get the simple majority, the second consideration is that such a winner must win at least 25% in 23 States as you mentioned.

In terms of lawmakers’ salaries as a ratio of GDP per capita, the gap is even much wider. While the salary of a Nigerian lawmaker is 116 times the country’s GDP per person, that of a British member of parliament is just 2.7 times.

The average salary of Nigerian worker based on the national minimum wage is N18,000.00, So, the yearly salary is N18,000.00 x 12 = N216,000.00 ($1,333.00)
Remember, Yearly Salary of Nigerian Senator = $2,183,685.00.
        Proportion: $2,183,685.00/$1,333.00 = 1,638
It will take an average Nigerian worker 1,638 years to earn the yearly salary of a Nigerian Senator.

  • Author’s gravatar

Prayer is what we need at a crucial time like this. This is history

  • Author’s gravatar

It is in the interest of democracy that APC wins. PDP has become lax and feel they are entitled to power, no matter how they perform. Not that I care about APC or Buhari, but this presents an opportunity for PDP to sit back in opposition, work hard and come back with a better candidate and better plans. Jonathan was measured and he was just not good enough. He could not defend his PhD, leadership abilities or political skills. Asked by a foreign journalist why Nigeria, a nation with vast oil wealth, had a military without weapons, Jonathan’s response, “that’s the thing we were told, I was not there,” should make all Nigerians weep. Is that who should be your president? After 16 years, it is a good time to try another party, even if just for the heck of it. If you are not a bigot, completely sold without reason to one party, you have to accept that it is time for
    change.

    • Author’s gravatar

APC today is actually PDP under Obasanjo. If they won, the no other party will ever win.APC is the old cabal and if Goodluck loses, Nigeria is back to square one. Many will not understand it today until it happens

      • Author’s gravatar

It is better we are back to square one under APC (old cabal) as you call than to remain under Goodluck. How much much were u buying fuel under the so call old cabal? How times did universities and polytechnic went on strike under the old cabal? My brother i prefer this devil (old cabal) i know than this angel (Goodluck) i know not

      • Author’s gravatar

Why would you tie any possible success of APC to Obasanjo, the one whom you all counted as irrelevant, of no political value, irrelevant, and a god-forbidden devil.

      • Author’s gravatar

So, if APC is PDP, which party is in power?

  • Author’s gravatar

How come Kogi appeared twice? Don’t give room for malpractices….

  • Author’s gravatar

All what I know is referendum.Any body hwo won should be accepted by the naij masses and let peace rain in dis country .

  • Author’s gravatar

My concern is the Buhari lost in the federal capital. I thought constitutionally it is mandatory for an elected president to win the FCT

  • Author’s gravatar

Definitely peace has come to stay in Naija whether her enemies like it or not

  • Author’s gravatar

What does the rule say’s for one be crown the president of the country? Is it that one must win 25% of 2/3 of the 36 states or what?

  • Author’s gravatar

Nigerians are eager to hear the rest of the rresults so as to congratulate the expected winner Gen. Buhari, Bravo for the inecs well done job.

    • Author’s gravatar

Buhari cannot be the winner sorry. He still lost in places he lost in before so whats there to celebrate? Anyone supporting Buhari is simply mentally incapacitated because Buhari has no single project to his name and never built anything call it road or school or something, so why should he even be supported?

  • Author’s gravatar

You have been offered the last chance to defect to PDP. After today, we’ll not accept defectors.

  • Author’s gravatar

Buhari is only doing west, north and central while Jonathan is west , north, Central,East and south.

  • Author’s gravatar

    PDP – 2, 324, 734….
    APC – 2, 302, 978….
PDP leading by count of votes….APC leading by count of states…..

BUT THE ALMIGHTY GOD HAS ORDERED, VOX POPULI VOX DEI, BUHARI IS PRESIDENT ELECT AT THE END OF THE DAY AND BUHARI WILL BE SWORN IN AS THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA, AT THE END OF MAY 2015. THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN QED

      • Author’s gravatar

It is not the almighty God but the devil that can order for Buhari to win. Buhari is a lazy man who has not worked or done anything to deserve the presidency. When Buhari was a head of state, the country was stagnant and he nver built anything or created any jobs. I and many who understand and believe in hardwork will be surprised if a lazy and stagnant Buhari wins.Tell us one thing Buhari built or achieved as head of state?

I don’t care if PDP or APC win. what matters to me is that, the person that will make Nigeria great should win

  • Author’s gravatar

I notice that there are quite a lot of ‘Rejected Votes’. We all have to take collective responsibility for this as we have clearly not been successful in preparing voters for this important process. We have to do better next time as we can reflect and inform on the nature of the rejection of votes. We are a nation of mixed abilities and we must aim therefore, to inform those with lesser predisposition to understand the procedures so as to maximise votes next time round. Greetings to my fellow Nigerian. Our ancestors are very pleased at our stage of human development.

All we want is peace, love and freedom.. they should stop sacrificing d innocent people, give us our right n provides job opportunities for the youth…so I say bye bye to corruption

How are you my Nigerian brother and sisters. Greeting from Zimbabwe. Wish you the best and please show us leadership as you have the biggest population and economy (now).

  • Author’s gravatar

I don’t see any reason why we should all be insulting ourselves here as this election is all about electing who we want.
    The both contestants are Nigerians.
GEJ has not done anything to any body to deserve such fowl language.
GMB has also not done anything wrong to want to contest as the president of Nigeria.
We Nigerians should just wish the best for the nation and whosoever emerges becomes the next president.
Please, lets stop giving names as the two people involved are nation builders and not destroyers.
    Thanks

  • Author’s gravatar

PDP won in Abuja? Wow! so many lies were peddled online.

  • Author’s gravatar

Could there be a possible runoff? I believe the Nigeria law says: Majority votes plus 25% of the votes in two third of the states. So Buhari has to score 25% of the votes in 24 States plus the popular votes to be declared President-elect. Can anyone please affirm or disavow that I just stated. I need clarity.

    Early results from Nigeria’s
election show little separating the incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan, and
    ex-military ruler Muhammadu Buhari.

    With
eight states and the capital Abuja declared, President Jonathan’s People’s
Democratic Party (PDP) has a lead of about 20,000 votes.Of the nine regions
announced, the PDP has taken four, with 2,322,734 votes, and Gen Buhari’s All
Progressives Congress (APC) taking five, with 2,302,978 votes.

  • Author’s gravatar

Enugu State election result is questionable, i will advise APC to seek legal means in order to actualize the mandate of the people, likewise those of Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Cross River States. Even though i am very sure GEJ should start making arrangement to move his bagages to Bayelsa, when the result of the remaining states is finally announced.

  • Author’s gravatar

      • Author’s gravatar

I am not a Nigerian, but it’s interesting to read about ‘you Igbos’ (not from you only). Is Nigeria really divided on tribal lines?

        • Author’s gravatar

If you know nothing about Nigeria so why interfering or making judgement??

          • Author’s gravatar

Brother/Sister: I am not interefering or judging: I am asking. I would like to know if Nigeria faces the same challenges in terms of ethnic divide as where we come from.

          • Author’s gravatar

Yes,Because we are talking about national development and some of them are talking about ethnic or tribal issues, our country is been blessed with abundant resource but yet many Nigeria lives in 100% poverty, our current president claimed that Nigeria is the best economy in Africa but there are millions of Nigerian jobless,he claimed to have produce agriculture revolution but yet many Nigerians can not afford to eat comfortably 2 times a day, many Nigerians are been killed everyday, no constant electricity despite high cost..so what are we benefiting as a Nigeria but they (Igbos.. still don’t see anything wrong in Nigeria system for a change to emerge…

          • Author’s gravatar

Thanks a lot for the explanation. Be blessed

  • Author’s gravatar

I have been following your election in your country closely, for personal reasons. I am happy to see that many are wanting change. It is a shame that many in your country go without even the basics needs for day to day life. I am blessed to live in a country that gives hope and promise.God bless those how went and made there voices and choices heard. You are beautiful people and your country is beautiful. Hold on to your faith and all will be good. God bless you all.

        • Author’s gravatar

Article 134 (2) of the Nigerian Constitution stipulates that a presidential candidate will be duly elected after attaining both the highest number of votes cast; and has received at least a quarter of the votes at each of at least two-thirds of all the states and the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja. If no candidate satisfies the requirement, a second election will be held between the two leading candidates within seven days from the pronouncement of the result

Do you guys even read the constitution before you talk? GEJ is losing by over 3 million votes and GMB and GEJ are tie for number of states (over 25% votes)

          • Author’s gravatar

Whoever wins is fine by me. I am happy with the general conduct of the elections. Promotion comes from God. He puts down one and sets up another.

  • Author’s gravatar

With my calculation, PDP may still win this election bcos the difference now from my calculation is about 2,500,000 votes that can be canceled easily by PDP votes from Rivers and Delta state. Pls watch out for the last card.

    • Author’s gravatar

Did you forget EDO, CROSS RIVER, EBOYI and split votes from KWARA? Come on man. The incumbency has its advantages. Nigerians are not foolish. Why do you think they are voting Peace and Unity? Political maturity is in the air. Breathe and savor it.

  • Author’s gravatar

Why haven’t results come from 80 percent of South South and South Eastern states. Is GEJ trying to save the RIGGING for Last? I suspect foul play.

    • Author’s gravatar

Don’t mind those brothers. They are the imperialist lackeys. The minions who refused to see a powerful Nation emerging. So myopic that they can never reason that East, West, North and South are cardinal points of imaginary lines. Nigeria is one Nation, one Landscape and one people. Teach this to tribal peddlers. They are the Neanderthals of our times. We know where we come from in Nigeria. It sickens to look at our Country with those eyes all the time.

We are Nigerians first and tribes next. We all came iut ans cast our votes as led by our conscience. Let the winner emerge. Whoever they are should know that the Nigerian spirit is not dead and if after 4 years they do not perform up to scratch they will be voted out.
we should forget the lines that divide and focus on what binds us together.
we are a great narion and should not let ourselvws be our own stumbling block.
there is a lot of anger and resentment here but the common ground is that we all want progress
    politicians are politicians
the only way they will perform is when we hold them accountable. This election is a good starting point. Whoever emerges winner will have fought a close battle
let them know that no party is guaranteed anything. Your actions and posterity will judge you

Now the Apc are leading so fare, without the formula 1/4 of 2/3 of all the votes cast, all seems well and the election adjourned best, but when the tide turns can they still hold it to the end or forge to burn the country down with violence?

Another poor showing of the two parties- more especially the Apc is the call for cancellation of result in states they have poor showing, even in a well known PDP dominated states- Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Imo, Enugu and so on. These states may likely give Apc some leads in the state level, not in the presidential election traditionally that’s the case. I guess that PDP took to such call of cancellation cause of ApC reaction in PDP’s strongholds.

if many of us still cry GEJ is corrupt and can’t fight Corruption, what is the Definition of Corruption when our CORE has RUPTURED??? when we see people as lesser and some as greater, Mans Dominion mandate is not to dominate another, but do all humanly possible to create and enabling environment for the growth of another… if we begin to mark sins, iniquities and faults which tribe or people have not soiled their hands in the nation Nigeria.. We need Re-orient our minds as Nigeria, corruption starts from your immediate home, curb favoritism there, curb other vices in your home before you talk about your head. Charity they said begins from within… Admirers of people’s wives, spoilers people’s daughters, we see evil growing in the society and can’t even play our part and we deem it fit to point fingers at Mr president.
Ghandi said: BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE. Change in Nigeria doesn’t just start with the leaders, it starts with YOU.
if we think change, live change, talk change we will see the change, but it takes and internal transformation first to see change….. Let the leader God approves become Mr President.
We have played our civic part… lets leave the rest to Destiny/fate.. stop the fighting already going on here.

    • Author’s gravatar

You are wrong.Only a fool will not want Jonathan to be re-elected. In an ideal society, he is supposed to have been given a landslide victory, considering that he is the best President or Prime Minister Nigeria has ever had; and is not the one that kidnapped the school girls. Excellent commander in chief, that takes the safety of the girls into consideration by avoiding any rash attack.

This election is showing Nigeria is still divided between tribalism and Religion. The North will stick to religion and tribe while South East and South South goes with Tribe. South West seems to vote based on what the individual can do. In this election though, I don’t know whether a President that hasn’t done much in the last 8 years as VP and Prez or someone that was a dictator/tyrant and possibly looking to cash in like all other Ex military Presidents will be best. May God help Nigeria.

This is nothing but a joke that President Jonathan allowed JEGA to play out on the national TV. The election was long rigged to favor Buhari, it’s pathetic that Jonathan allowed this charade to keep unfolding. I hope, he has no plans to hand over power to terrorist elements.

NOW we shall be watching if INEC responsibly apply its own laid down rules and guidelines for declaring a presidential election winner as stipulated by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The rules are already clear and laid down. What the general public in this nation (and the world at large) will be observing is the application of the latter … https://www.inecnigeria.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/INEC-guidelines-for-election-observation.pdf

A possible 2nd round is imminent, and should that happen, it will be part and parcel of the of the electoral process. Let everyone of us show our respect and commitment to the electoral processes as laid down by our own constitution.

I think our concern as citizenry should be on the character and antecedents of the personality that will be steering the affairs of the country rather than party affiliations. Its a really good for the citizens, so in 4years if Buhari fails to perform, we will vote out APC if they present him as their presidential candidates.

I hope Nigeria hold incisive post election sampling of votes cast in every state since data of finger-printing of registered voters are available and where electronic process of authentication was not carried out the electoral officials made to provide good explanations of their records. Nigeria need to move away from the process of cheating, rigging, and falsification of elections. This is because the mentality of corruption if continually grown among Nigerians when these issues are swept away after every election and reflective actions avoided. Correct data is extremely important to successfully manage and grow Nigerian economy for all its citizens.

  • Author’s gravatar

    Awesome result……

  • Author’s gravatar

With results from 35 states and Abuja declared so far by INEC, it is Beyond all reasonable doubt that General Buhari is the next president of Nigeria. GEJ should step up and congratulate the president elect. Congratulations to all Nigerians for peaceful change of government. It was a hard fought victory for GMB. We are sleeping with one eyes closed, lets join hands together and build a stronger nation and fight corruption. Congratulations GMB, congratulations APC!

When have you change your name to Jega of INEC office Adebayo to jump into conclusion and document the winner?

      • Author’s gravatar

Ma’aji Caleb Zonkwa, are you still in doubt that Buhari is the winner? Let us wait, in some hours Jega will confirm this. I will probably add Jega as my middle name after the announcement. Siddon look!

        • Author’s gravatar

In simple term Adbayo, how about the analysis on 25% of 2/3 of Nigeria states including the Federal Capital? Who is President? INEC have to trumps out taking into consideration.

          • Author’s gravatar

Of course, Buhari will win (has won) 25% of votes cast in 2/3 of Nigeria states including FCT. We have 36 states + FCT making 37, 2/3 of 37 is approximately 25. Seriously, Buhari has won.

          • Author’s gravatar

That is your view. INEC legally have to trump out who is president or the judiciary have to step in

  • Author’s gravatar

Congratulations to Buhari -This is your second time you came to save Nigeria and I wish you the best of luck. I am sure this time you will have 100% success. Please ensure you recover the stolen money from PDP. Don’t forget the poor you represent love’s you and your country Nigeria need you to get the money back and use it to develop your country. You must recover the $20B from NNPC.

  • Author’s gravatar

I pray God assist buhari if he eventually emerge as number 1 citizen of Nigeria

    • Author’s gravatar

Rukayat by statical analysis base on 25% and 2/3 of state including FCT; i think Buhari really faces a greater reguirment to become Nigeria President. Plus, his educational background for the presidency. However, by acts of God we need to keep our fingers cross awaiting INEC trumpet.

      • Author’s gravatar

Ma’aji Caleb Zonkwa, with due respect please, let us stop raising any issue about Buhari’s educational qualofication. Buhari ia a former head of state, a former federal commissioner (Minister), an ex-service man that staked his life for the unity of our country. I am not sure if you truly believe that Buhari does not have educational qualification far above school certificate. We should not join the politicians in ridiculing our leaders. We can diagree on issues and even call ourselves names but we should give honour to whom honour is due.

We are waiting for formal declaration by INEC but from available data it is crystal clear that Buhari is the winner.

      • Author’s gravatar

What will you now do??You keep bringing excuses and don’t want to accept defeat..Change is here already..whether he has certificate or not, he will be our president for the next 4 years..SAI BUHARI,

Congrats the iconic hero of our ever growing democracy, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Azikiwe; if not for any other thing, for the fact that you have succeeded in opening our political space which hitherto was shrinked by crooked selfish and selfserving politicians in the ruling party, and most especially for being magnanimous in defeat. I have always told my colleagues that GEJ is genetically different from the crops of the current breeds of politicians parading themselves as messiah for the nation. GEJ is simple, humble, tolerant, devoid of selfish interest, and am pretty sure that if not for the pressure from the self serving sycophants surrounding him, he would have contested for the second term.
I wish you well sir in all your endeavours as you live to see this country attain that sublime height of your desired dream.
