All progressive peoples congress (APC), Maj-Gen Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) today was duly accredited in the Kofar Baru ward 003 at about 8.38 am.

Buhari, accompanied by his wife, Hajia Aisha, and a retinue of aides is among the 744 billed to cast their ballots in the presidential and national Assembly poll in the Kofar Baru polling unit.

Buhari who was duly authenticated using the card reader by assistant presiding officer, Malam Zahradeen Abba and an official using the manual verification means, expressed satisfaction with the accreditation exercise.
It took the polling officials about ten minutes to accredit Buhari under the watchful eyes of local and foreign media practitioners and election monitors.

Buhari decked in an agbada and a cap to match said the outcome of the elections would be credible if voters are allowed to exercise their franchise.

Said he: “If people are allowed to vote rigging will actually be an impossible in this system. I think the independent national electoral commission (INEC) has done very well and I have said it to my colleagues elsewhere that from their presentation to the council of state which I happen to be one of the members, INEC this time has done extremely well.”

As early as 7 a.m, dozens of voters, including women in purdah had lined up to partake in the accreditation exercise, preparatory to casting their ballot.

As at 9.35 am, it was observed that at the Kofar Arewa (11) in the ancient town of Daura, the hometown of Buhari, eligible voters queued patiently and peaceably for the accreditation exercise.
