One of the major hurdles developers encounter in Lagos is the issue of processing of documents from the government ministries.

Developers constantly have to deal with frustrating issues ranging from delay in project timeline, fraudulent and fake agents, and multiple charges on same documentation, among others.

There are so many things they need to facilitate as builders, and a host of responsibilities they have to cover. It is quite burdensome having to deal with the strain of processing documents.

In a chat with The Guardian, Chairmanship candidate of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Lagos State chapter, Dr. Tony Aspire Kolawole, promised to curb that anomaly and lessen the burden, saying his administration will immediately establish a REDAN liaison office at the Ministry of Lands and Physical planning, Lagos State, which will handle documentation of their members.

Aspire said it will be a special arrangement with the officials of the ministries and will be well funded by his administration.

“We will ensure that files are processed promptly without you having to resort to connections or using ‘leg’.
“The only requirement to ensure prompt delivery of your file is your membership in REDAN, and we will take it from there, and provide you with the necessary services and connections,” he assured.
